This is the new bike. I though I'd get something that could handle my 130kg weight and this just copes just fine. 1700cc MT-01. Very different in how the power comes on, but it just launches off at the lights. Handles good with R1 front and rear suspension and brakes. Looking at putting straight bars on it and somehow changing the rearend.

Why do Yamaha build a bike that can stop a lions hart, then stick them fuckin horrible mirrors on it, there are lots of aftermarket jobbies out there matey, If its the only mod you do, please make it the mirrors. Otherwise it done!

I had a sit on one of these at the Bike show in sydney today, feels like a small bike for the size of the donk in it. only thing i would change straight away if i got one would be a set of straight risers and a different bend on the bars. then start saving for the turbo
thinking about organising a test ride even though i cannot afford one :)

Always liked them! Havnt ridden one but I have sat on a few in shops and thought about it. With few well thought out mods they could be pretty evil looking I think.

Motomax has one of them. I'm sure he'd share a few details: http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11391

Front tyre looks like it is cupping quite a bit?

maybe just an optical allusion, but would have to wonder how tyres wear on the emptyone.

Fucking fast on the back undoubtadly!

Good call on the front tyre it has worn "cupping" as you've called it on the RHS. Just had a new Pilot Sport put on and the mechanic said it's from round-a-bouts and road camber.... Your thoughts..!!
And yes the rears are going to be temporary additions from the looks of it.:(

Fk! I've got the same front tyre and getting the same right hand side cupping. Must be a tyre design fault, eh?

Sounds Good If I can get it back together. What day and time?

Have swapped standard risers with fat bar risers so Pro-taper bars will fit. Extra 2 inches wider on each end and lower.... Pulled bulky tail assembly off and have started fabricating a checker plate tail tidy.
Wouldn't believe the weight of the old assembly [:0] as it has a huge electric fan in it. Was there to cool down the original muffler covers as they apparently melt when hot....Ha ha. Need small indicators and new number plate light. This'll get it looking tidy but still want to go Radical.. Just don't know how yet.!

Hi Fiend.....Iv'e got one of those and yes you can junk a load of wieght of it, just keep taking bits off! A few tips: don't buy a power commander cos they run closed loop standard. Get rid of the std rear brake master cylinder res,the thing holds about half a litre of brake fluid. junk all the emmisions pipe work. Get yourself a K&N and drill a few holes in the airbox for a bit of induction roar (makes a big difference). The main thing is just keep playing with it.....hours of fun[8D]

New tail tidy fitted and new risers with pro-taper bars. Waiting on bar ends mini led indicators and led number plate light. Got to do something with the clutch/brake resivors. Mirrors gone....
