View Full Version : SF Trackday

After the NFR, the quality of the roads and seeing everyone getting off on the corners, some nearly literally, if there are enough people interested we could organize a trackday with the SF's. I have been there a few times on mine and its always been the only one. There's is nothing more satisfying than having some tool in the pit next door on his shiny new gixer with 2 inch chicken strips, wank on about how he can get mach 2 out of his machine but then whip his arse on your stripped down bike once you get on the track.
And regardless of where you sit, its just a fucking blast, no coppers, no manhole covers or cow shit on bends, everyone is going the same way and nothing but bikes all day.

Its usually plastic from one end of the pit lane to the other so to get a few SF's down for the day would be an eye opener

I think next year at EC the weekend rates go up but if we go on a weekday, its generally less manic anyway and about $30-$40 cheaper

I'm going to go anyway so if anyone fancies it too and there's enough of us, let me know and I'll organize it - I figure Feb,Mar is probably far enough away

I may be up for that on Jan 8th, depending on cost. I'll be on hildays then.
Am going to the Superbikes next year, so cash-wise that may rule out a track day.
I'm interested though.

Here's the dates for the first few months next year -

Thursday, 8th January, $179.00
Sunday, 11th January, $209.00
Saturday, 31st January, $209.00
Sunday, 1st February, $209.00
Saturday, 21st February,$209.00
Sunday, 22nd February, $209.00
Friday, 13th March, $179.00
Sunday, 29th March,$209.00
Monday, 30th March, $179.00
Monday, 13th April, (Easter Monday) $209.00
Saturday, 25th April, Anzac Day)$209.00
Sunday, 26th April, $209.00
Friday, 8th May, $179.00

If we can get a steer on what date and how many suits most, I'll give them a ring and get a spot that we can all get in on. I'll chuck it on my card to get us all booked up if we need to be quick

If anyone hasn't been before let me know and we'll sort out groups too so everyone's comfortable.

Basically it goes that if you haven't been to EC before you start in C group, though if after one session you find you are a bit quicker than the group, they'll put you up one.

Next 2 groups are B and B1. They are supposed to be medium and medium fast but to be honest they end up being pretty much the same. The top end of B1 is probably pretty quick and the bottom end of B is not as quick but in between its all like for like. At the end of the day its organized pretty well so if you feel uncomfortable you can move about easily enough.

Group A is for the racers coming to practice and the superfast sports riders. To be honest if you can stay on a SF coming down the straight with this lot you've got a fucking grip like Wendys lips or you are surgically stitched onto your bike

Don't even think about it. Its not a race and when you get out there you ignore the rest and get on with enjoying yerself

Safest way to progress your own limits i reckon

Awesome - I'll start a list of people who think they fancy it by the end of next week and depending on how big the list is we can make a call as to whether we book it soon or not.
If its only 5 or 6 of us we can do that probably a month out but if there's more we might need more time to get all the places fixed up.

Depending when it is, I'll come.
I'm shortening my swingarm, so I'll even be able to go around corners this time. The last 2 that I've done, I've had the back end trying to overtake the front on corners.

Maybe you and fimp could come down together with a trailer, Jim. As long as you've still got the card, it doesn't matter at the track whether it's suspended or not.

Sorry guys - been away for a month and havn't done shite on this. Def have any bike you like on there. Ripped off piccie but this is my SF last summer. I've even seen harleys scraping round corners. In terms of licence you need a race licence but you sign for it on the day and it lasts for that session
If you don't have full leathers you can hire them too

When's everyone looking at this being do'able - March?
