Long Flat Pub Run - Saturday 29th Nov

hey all,

weather permitting i'm doing the long flat pub run next weekend. heading off from brisbane on my own at sparrow fart saturday morning to meet up with a work mate at Ballina then carrying on down to Wauchope then approx 30k's west to Long Flat.

its an organised event and as far as i'm told has been going for a while. i'm pretty keen to go on my first overnighter, i'll be strapping my swag to the back of the ZRX and have a back pack for a few clothes etc. i plan on having a few drinks on the saturday night a the pub which is in walking distance and then maybe take a few back to the camp site to sit around the fire.

setting off for a leisurely ride back to brisbane at mid morning on sunday, approx 600k's each way.

thats the plan so far anyway, whos up for it?

Thanks but I already have plans for that night that involve strippers and beer.Maybe next time,have a great trip.

after a massive response i decided to head down there on my own, i'm glad i did, it was a top weekend. i struggled getting out of bed at 5.30 saturday morning after a few beers friday at the bloc party gig, i didn't get home till 1am so was pretty tired.

made the long ride down to catch up with a mate at ballina, got there just before 8.30 nsw time to find i'd lost my moto dry suit off the back. i only bought it the day before, bugger! i could have spent that $100 on booze!

anway, i must admit a fairly boring ride down to the long flat turn off at wauchope but then a great ride on to long flat itself. just started spitting with rain though and lost the back on a couple of corners which made my arse twitch, all good in the end though.

Good on ya Rich. Cheers for the photos mate. You'll have to come along to the ASF BBQ (in January now I think?). This time of year is fully booked for most of us but we'll catch up for a ride soon.

cheers si, just got back from a quick holiday back home, i'm keen to get back into the fighter scene and that bbq sounds good, be great to meet some of you guys.

been searching the forum and from what i can gather its on the 24th about 7ish but where? also depending on when the story bridge is having its aus day piss up will depend on whether i make it or not, does anyone know?

Holy Sh!t that brang back some memories. I lived in that town from when I was 5 till I was 16 then moved up to Brisbane.

I definately have to do that run this year. So keen. I remember sneaking over to the pub to get fire crackers off the bikies haha. I know that town like you wouldnt believe.
