View Full Version : Yes, a 200/60-17 will fit a Busa

Put a V-Rod tire on the Nakedbusa last night. Fits better than the 200/50-17 storm did. Its a bit narrower than the Avon so the chain is not as close.

With the ass raised up and the tall tire the centerstand is almost useless.

The wheel looks like an 18 with the smaller disk.

I reckon it'd turn-in quicker too. May get nervous head-shake at high-speed? What's it ride like now?

Took it up to an indicated 150 last night on the way home from work. Held it for a mile or so. Seemed stable enough. It fels a bit better at full lock when doing slow speed parking lot stuff.

Its just a shits and giggles test.

Same reason people put 180 rims on the front - check out some of the latest german stuff. Looks very chunky.

A right size sticky 190 would do a better job.
and raising it slightly on the links would improve looks, clearance and turn in.
No advantage going 200, whatever the profile.
If been through enough tyres on my last Busa and current Naked Busa to work that out.
I would end up on my arse if I tried to do that to mine.

I dont get a chance to go ride the canyons like I used to. Working 3 jobs puts a dampner on the fun.

I didnt put this tire on to go drag knee, its a hard ass cruiser tire that was free.

The bike worked best with the 190/55-17 Michelin 2cts. Great tip in, good sticky rubber on the sides and all around better profile.

This bike is up in the rear 45mm by using some shorter dogbones, combine that with a tire that is 65mm taller than stock, it turns pretty quick.

This weekend Im going to take the long way to one of my jobs and do about 35 miles of canyons and see how it acts.

Ive always figured you have to have a bit of control and smarts when your out riding. I change my habits to what bike Im riding.

For the last 10 years I have averaged 75,000 miles a year and still have not had a spill or wreck.

Yeah, tyres are a very personal choice.

I mostly ride with the local sportsbike guys, (because they're quick
and they ride every weekend) and there have been several comments
about my choice of tyres, normaly Pilot Powers, or Dunny Qualifiers,
but I still feel happy with them.

Got a half worn Dunny Qualifier 200/50 off my B-King that I was
saving for taking the Naked Busa to the drags, not tried that
combo before, dont think it will have a great difference.

I might not like your choice of tyres,
but your choice of Naked Hayabusa is no bad thing...[8D]
