the pipe aint upside down instead of pointing down at the road it points towards the back tyre..;)

sammo the front mud gaurd was splitdown the centre in the accident n i was told it is a waste of time trying to get them plastic welded... so i tossed it n now am looking for a new one..

i wouldnt mind getting some stainless pipes for it n a cbr400 engine n craming it in the frame would give it a bit more go power.[^].

ok i have a question i have been told you can squeeze a 600 engine into a 400 frame... i also have been told that the 600 engine is almost the same size as a 400 enginge... now how hard would it be to cram a 600 engine itnto the 250 frame???

Weaselman
31-10-2008, 02:52 PM
why bother?

just buy a modern 600 and then you dont have to worry about having brakes and suspention that cant cope with the bigger motor

881052gixxr
31-10-2008, 03:05 PM
cause i can pick up a 600 almost complete.. n its only gonna cost $1700..

Weaselman

plus the money you gotta spend up rating the suspention and brakes.

and they will need to be done

wouldnt i be able to use the 600 gear?

Weaselman
31-10-2008, 03:35 PM
depends on the bike.

youd have to check things like fork diamiter or hot youd have to modify the headstock if you were changing the triple clamps too.

Im pretty sure a CBR shock wouldnt go straight into a gull arm 250

I'm with weasel mate - your could buy a wrecked 600 for 1700 and for the same work/dollars invested have a legal bike that you wouldn't then have to worry about getting engineered etc...

But mate - don't let anyone stop you or tell you its stupid if you are keen... a certain turbo charged gs500 springs to mind right about now.

Thats what happens when you name it Challenger...

All over Florida...

I have worked on a few little cbr's etc. You would be replacing all the suspension brakes swingarm etc. I would save the money and spend it on the 600. Put a big single in the 250. there are a few running around with xr600s etc. Those 250's are tiny motors dimensionally.

I've got a tzr 250 with a 600 tt motor in it. Used to go pretty good, never had the top end of the 250 (2stroke) but was heaps of fun to ride.

Maybe the front end off the 600.
