Here's one for all you long term Sydney member's who I'm familiar with. I got this email a while back.....

"G'day,

I am organising a registered Charity Bike and Car show in Western Sydney, Penrith for the Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA) on the 21st or 22nd Mar 09.

The majority of the show is focused on Bikers and Car enthusiasts such as Hotrods and American Muscle Cars.

For the Motorcycle involvement I am endeavouring to include a wide variety of different bikes ranging from the British Classic/Vintage to the Custom Choppers. I was keen to include the Streetfighters style of bikes to the line up. I was hoping that you may be interested in setting up a stall to advertise who you are and to sell your range of merchandise and hopefully have a couple of Streetfighters to display.

On this weekend the Ulysses are having there AGM nearby with expected rider figures to be around the 5000 mark. With these figures and the general public exposure to your stall should be high. We are also displaying other motor-sports ranging from Monster truck rides, sprint cars and Power boats. (Some are still pending).

If anyone is interested please give me a call or email to both the following emails. Any help or info is greatly appreciated."

This is all too close to the AFR for me to organise so.....
Is anyone familiar with this event and the parties involved?
Is anyone down that way prepared to organise an ASF stand?
Does anyone wnat to contact me with regards to doing something for ASF down there?

Let me know guys.

Absolutely.

If you can get an ASF banner and some merch down here, I would be more than happy to fly the flag.

Nice one guys. Ok. Dan was first in with his hand up. Are you willing to take the reins mate? I can post some gear down to you and the banner but do you know any one with a 3 x 3 pop-up marquee and camping table? Can you organise bikes to show. Can you guide the others that have offered?

The standard set up looks like this:

No, hang on, that's the wrong one...

I meant like this:

Can you emulate that?

I'm guessing i'll turn up for a squiz. Si can you include some shirts for sale on the day, because I want one, but this computer buying/interweb thing has got me fucked. If I can see it in person and hand over money to a person, i'm capable of that, but ebay/bpay blahdefuckenblah just sucks the marrow from my bones (i'm not a smart man, but I know where the bottlo is!)

Shirts will be a problem mate. I can only send down what is ordered as sending a range down in three styles ranging from girls size 8 to 3XL would take a fucking full van! There's no point sending down two sizes from 3 designs as all day you'll get hassled about having no shirts that they want. Trust me, been there too many times.

Give me a couple of days to sort out a marquee, and if you can send down the gear I am more than up to sorting out the details.
I will speak to the locals on the NFR and organise some bikes to be present for the event.
The cam net may be an issue cause it has been a few years since my time in the green but I am sure I will be able to come up with something suitable.
I will also get in contact (once I get the details from your good self) with the event organiser asap to see what his requirements for the display are.

Also if anyone in the Sydney area is available (bikes to display and/or man power)for the event could you please let me know so I can get an idea of numbers. Cheers.

I'll tentatively put my hand up for half a day's worth of stall manning with my bike to show, if it's worthy enough.

That's only 2 weeks before AFR 09 Simon.

I'm thinkin anyone from NSW or ACT planning to go to AFR should seriously think about putting up their bikes for this pratice run...just to see what the punters think.

How is this relevant to the AFR?

My bike isn't fighter show worthy, maybe one day but not just yet. That said, I'll still try to get there for a few hours.
