Hey all,
Looking at a few options for my speedo/tacho setup on my 96 blade
Ive looked at just upgrading it to the newer style honda gauges, and also looking at aftermarket
What do you guys recommend?
Acewell has a few units out there that I like, but hey have a plastic housing.
Are there other brands?
What are you guys using?

You could do a search for dash, speedo, tacho and find that the question has been asked a thousand times and answered a thousand times.

Your aftermarket options off the top of my head are:

Acewell
Trailtech
Motodigit

Arrggghh fcuk i cant think of any others.

My preference is the trailtech it does pretty much everything you could ever want and costs about 1/2 of the acewell.

well i am using a motogadget but they are pricey and as far as acewell is concerned they have great units and are very durable there is also Koso they are very good quality without the price tag and dont use a stock honda one mate go aftermarket cos then you can buy it with the features you want

I ordered it tonight.. Should arrive in 6 days or so.. and then I fuck off the old school factory gauges, save a bunch of weight and have a small compact unit that looks the shit and has way more features on it :)) Woohoo!

Features:

Bar Graphic Tachometer, Digital Tachometer and Warning, speedometer, Trip Meter 1 & 2, Odometer, Maximum and Average Speed, 12/24H clock, Riding and Total Riding Timer.

Functions:

The Acewell unit includes analogue and digital tachometer, speedometer and clock with blue backlight. Clock will remain displayed while other functions are not in use.

In addition, the odometer and total riding time is stored in memory when unit is turned off.

Hey Hillsy

I sent you an email.. figured Id ask here too

Just got the same Acewell Setup as the one on your kwaka
Was wondering how you hooked up the speedo sensor etc. Did you use the magnet/sensor setup they supplied? or did you take the signal off the bike in another way?
Also on the tacho setup.. What did you do there?
ANy other tips might help. I am putting the guage on my blade so everything wont translate, but Im hoping to make it a minimal hassle
Cheers
Thanks

Does anyone know of any speedo/tacho units like this one that have a tacho that goes to 14k rpm?

The Bar graph on these goes to 12000 but the numerical readout goes to 19000, you shouldnt be looking at your Tacho at 14000 anyway.;)

I don't have to look at it per se, when my head's flattened on the tank at 200 clicks it's right in front of me, it's nice to know where the redline is. My motor's fucked enough as it is without getting belted off the limiter.
