I have been hunting and can't seem
to find any switchgear that looks the goods.
I want them as small and trick lookin'
as is possible.
Also hve been looking at the frembos thread
and am wondering if there are any cheaper good looking
SETS of levers.
It's all good to have a trick setup on the right,
but what about my lame looking standard clutch?[xx(]
I know there are lots of you guys out there that
have hunted high and low for this gear,
so please share any interesting links
or products with the less savy of us.
Looking forward to the flood of responses:D
Cheers.

Cheers Rod.
I know ben is the man but this is
my first attempt at a fighter and i'm trying to
go budget. When i step up to a more modern bike
with some balls i will prolly be seeing a lot of him.
But for now, i am enjoying the hunt and canibalize option.
Small is what i guess i'm going for.
i hate how switchgear is so big and clunky, it ruins the look
of nice levers and minimallist bars in my opinion.
But that is just my opinion.
Lets have a fighterest handlebar setup comp.
Post a pic here of your bars and dash so we can all
get some ideas.
Come on gents, show us ya bars!!!!!

This is a link to some smaller switches for trail bikes.
Any reason they would not work?

Go for 70's switch gear . The metal types that can be stripped back and polished . Z650 gear looks really good cleaned and polished .

Thanks Wayne, is it all above board
moving the starter and kill switch
off your bars?
And isn't your high beam there too?
sound like a really good option
if it's legal.

This is what I'm using on mine, but I had them make plain black covers, and anodized the casing black, too.

Res . As a legal requirement the kill switch , horn , the hi beam switch and indicators have to be on the bars within easy reach without removing you hands for the grips. It's rarely enforced unless you are getting the bike passed over the RTA Pits or getting an EC .

And there is nowhere that says the starter switch has to be on the bars . Same goes for manually operated lights(except for the Hi/Low beam switch)

hi all

looking to get some snazzier switches
plus get the on/off rocker back on the bars

was looking at this
http://www.quadtech.co.uk/en/Electrical/Switchgear/Handlebar+Switchgear+with+headlight+off.htm?sectio n_id=21447&product_id=260

not sure if i would be able to rig up the on/off rocker to run through the "hazzard" button though

think i could get away with it?

failing that can anyone else think of some sexy new looking switchgear that would have the off-option for the headlight?
im looking to move on to a headlight that outputs proper amps worth of power, but would like to be able to turn it off for cold starting the mighty v-twin

Should be OK Fimp. If it looks like a stock unit they ignore it. I saw an XS flat tracker with later model left switch block that had the starter hooked up the the PASS switch . Worked well and with a simple light switch & old Triumph style kill switch on the right bar it looked spot on . Bloke had no problems when it got Blue Slipped (other than exhaust & short guards that is) with a clearly modified set of switches .
