hi mate,if u buy a rectifier from electrex world .co.uk,u will have no more problems,i went through 10 rectifiers,std honda rectifiers,and when i got the electrexworld rectifier,i never had another problem.

Cheers Griff, I had a look at the site and saved the page mate.

While we are on lectrics I have stumbled on a bit of a problem. I have fitted a LED rear light unit with blinkers built in, and I have fitted LED blinkers to the front of the bike also.

When I switched them on to check I had the wiring the right way round they flash like fuck. Is there a way I can slow them down because I think they can only flash so many times per minute to pass the MOT test.

Yeah, you can get special flasher relays for LED indicators too.

Its under the fuse cover on the right hand side. The LED flasher units have different connectors and are because most are designed for cars they are bigger than the original so they won't fit in the housing and you'll have to replace the connector with spades. If you use the resistors you need 2 after the indicator switch but before the cables split to front and back indicators. Hope this helps. Get the LED flasher can mate. Those resistors get as hot as a normal globe would, and can melt shit if sitting on wires or any plastics.

Now then,

LED indicators.

When you fit em you may have a bit of a problem with them flashing to fast, you could fit resisters, but I've been told they get a bit hot and to be honest all the fuckin around fitting them just seems to be a bit of a wind up.

The other option is to buy a replacement flasher unit that will replace your original one. If you look around and buy the right one you can get one to plug straight in without any wire cutting or soldering.

And thats what I did in the end. Look there it is

Alright then, you have your unit and like me you dont have a fuckin clue where to plug it in.

You could get all technical and get out your wiring diagrame and stand there pretending you know what it all means, scratching your chin and saying things like 'Ah yes, stermafat'.

Or you could admit it all looks like a plate of spagetti and put the manuel back on the shelf where it will impress your Granny.

The unit its self is a little black box that looks like a dozen other little black boxes on your bike.

But this little black box does something all the others dont, IT CLICKS when you switch on your blinkers.

So now you know what general direction to look and you have found the clicking, you also find there are three little black boxes side by side.

Touch them and you will feel which one is doing all the clicking, weeeeeee-heeeeeeeeeee found it!

Now unplug the standard unit and put it on ebay to get some of your money back.

The new one plugs straight back in with no messing about cutting or soldering.

then re attach it to your bike and switch on your blinkers, ALL WORKING, happy days.

I guess you could try to figure out the whole wire thing, but for me simple is best, but you should do what works best for you.

One last thing, always use a green zip tie to secure the unit to your bike because if you dont there is a risk your flasher unit and your bike could implode and create a black hole engulfing the entire universe, and if you dont want to explain that to your Mum, dont risk it and go green.

Cheers Harry, its a Mrecedies colour called Ruby Red, but the pic's dont do it justice mate as I took em on my phone.

I looked through loads of swatch books trying to find the red I wanted and was about to give up when the guy flipped the lid off a tin of paint he had in the spray shop.

I instantly knew that was the one I wanted, and that was that.

It looks really nice as it is but the guy wants to polish the clear coat mate so I have to wait just a day or two longer. Never mind I'm Sure it will be worth it in the end.

Then its down to fixing the decals and getting it all mounted.

Oh then find a good location to get it photographed when the sun comes out, OK OK I know, dont start that with me now Harry!

Nope matey, apart from the Fireblade on the bottom of tha fairing, but thats in black and wont be to obvious. The tank is going to have 60mm Type R wheel centres from a Honda Civic and I have two sexy little HRC Yoshimura decals for the zorst heat shields.

I had the guy clear coat over the Evil Inside on top of the tank because I really liked that, but everything else is a stick on so if I change my mind later its easy to remove.

He was supposed to pay me J8,000. for a second hand turbine from MiG29, 'twas a fair price. But the sob started sneakin' and whimpin' he hadn't got a welfare yet, so he'd got no money. There are loads I could have used mate, but I liked the Type R because it came from a Honda civic and the bike is an R, ha ha.

The pipes sound good mate, and not to offencive. It has a nice twin zorst burble mate and will be going out for a blast sometime this week.

The fish will come mate, I tread every blank as a learning curve and go back to the lake a little wiser. I will have the big-un out mate, its just a matter of time.

if the pipes are'nt offenisve there not doing the job jon...best get a steel water pipe and flog it into them non offensive pipes until they offend at least 2 blocks away...its a nice look ya got there mate but i find the fairing offensive :);)
