sorry buddy i took it u was saying ur a yahoo and couldnt of used a scrambler [8)]

"In telecommunications, a scrambler is a device that transposes or inverts signals or otherwise encodes a message at the transmitter to make the message unintelligible at a receiver not equipped with an appropriately set descrambling device. Whereas encryption usually refers to operations carried out in the digital domain, scrambling usually refers to operations carried out in the analog domain. Scrambling is accomplished by the addition of components to the original signal or the changing of some important component of the original signal in order to make extraction of the original signal difficult. Examples of the latter might include removing or changing vertical or horizontal sync pulses in television signals; televisions will not be able to display a picture from such a signal. Some modern scramblers are actually encryption devices, the name remaining due to the similarities in use, as opposed to internal operation.

In telecommunications and recording, a scrambler (also referred to as a randomizer) is a device that manipulates a data stream before transmitting. The manipulations are reversed by a descrambler at the receiving side. Scrambling is widely used in satellite, radio relay communications and PSTN modems. A scrambler can be placed just before a FEC coder, or it can be placed after the FEC, just before the modulation or line code. A scrambler in this context, has nothing to do with encrypting, as the intent is not to render the message unintelligeable, but to give the transmitted data useful engineering properties.

A scrambler replaces sequences into other sequences without removing undesirable sequences, and as a result it changes the probability of occurrence of vexatious sequences. Clearly it is not foolproof as there are input sequences that yield all-zeros, all-ones, or other undesirable periodic output sequences. A scrambler is therefore not a good substitute for a line code, which, through a coding step, removes unwanted sequences."

Did you know that every time your car goes even over a mile or so over the speed limit, it is registered and placed on the database?
They only send a ticket if you are way over, OR (and here is the rub..) if you receive over 20 near misses!!!!!! You can now check how many you have against your car's registered number.

Dont know why you cant see me on the radar matey, I dont have my cloaking device switched on, lol. the only thing about the 929 frontend is the shape of the top yoke
so you'll have to get an aftermarket one cos there aint

Yeah mate, we all got spoiled, and I'm head over heels with my sssa paddock stand, ha ha.

Thanks for the comment on the Blade mate, I have a few more plans for it, so get Christmas and new year out of the way and I'll start chucking money at it again, lol.

Today I made a jig to hold the front wheel so I can paint it and spin it at the same time, a little tip I found on firebladers.com and there is a full 'how to' on painting wheels on there too.

Anyway Kato, hope you all have a happy and healthy new year, and all good things for 2010.

If you've been following my thread you'll know I did a car wheel conversion to my SSSA and used an Inovit Concept wheel in silver.

And very pleased I was with it if I say so myself. Problem was I still had that scratched to fuck black front wheel.

Iwas thinking of getting it refinished in two pack or powdercoat when I came across a thread on another site about doing it your self and save between 60 to 80 quid per wheel.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262081039.jpg

First thing the guy advised was to make a simple jig so the wheel can be rotated while you paint it. Fuck-it I can do that!!!

so I cobbled together som 75mm x 19mm softwood and a length of M12 threaded rod.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262093960.jpg

I gave the wheel a light sand so the paint stripper could dig in straight away.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262067577.jpg

I used a plastic tray to contain the mess as this is horrible stuff and you aint gonna wonna get it all over your work shop.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262066238.jpg

Then its just a matter of working it in and letting it do its stuff.

Its important to think about disposing of the used stripper as its nasty stuff.

I tipped mine on the roots of the cunt next doors tree, as it blocks my sun light in the summer.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262069511.jpg

your going to need a can of acid etch primer to key into the alumimiumniumneumnin.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262037956.jpg

once the stripper has done its job, lots of soapy water to wash off the stripper. At this stage dont be tempted to have a soapy wank coz that stuff fuckin burns.......... Or so I'm told, erhum, anyway....

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262031484.jpg

When I got back from the ER I saw that the edges of the wheel were machiened, and thought they would look good polished, so I did just that, and to be honest it helped take my mind off the pain.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262115560.jpg

Came up nice

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262093299.jpg

didn't it

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262089208.jpg

Now it needs to be masked up. I went over the bulk of the wheel with masking tape, but found it crinkled when I tried to put it on the paint line, so I used electrical tape and warmed it with a heat gun to get it to go round and sit tight to the line.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262077264.jpg

You can see it better there

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262038187.jpg

now stick the wheel in the jig

Here is one I made earlier (Bah-hahahahaha, I've always wanted to say that.)

Now give it some acid etch primer

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262052425.jpg

Wait 15 minutes and then apply the top coat. Its propper wheel paint and is resistant to stone chips, or thats what it says on the can. Its £6.50 a can, but I stole mine so it didnt cost me fuck all.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262108761.jpg

next remove the masking tape, make sure there are no dirt marks on the polished edge, then clear coat the whole thing

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262082435.jpg

wait 15 minutes, then give it another blast of clear.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262093857.jpg

and its done.

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1262039463.jpg

It came out really well and was a flawless finish. It took a whole day to do, but dont rush it and I'm sure you'll get the same result.

Its gonna be a day or two before I can reassemble it and get it back on the bike but the hard parts done now so happy days.

Tomanyprojex

When you moved the reg/rec did you mount it so the metal back is completely in contact with the frame? If not that will burn it out faster as its designed to use the frame as a heatsink. You can get special compound that they stick on the back of computer chips that helps heat transfer too. Coz the frame is aluminium it conducts the heat away really quickly...

Cheers Griff mate, you've done me a good-un :D

following Niel's top bit of advice I did the above electrex world conversion and took it out for a test ride today. Bit cold, but its all working good now cheers Griff.

While I was out I took a few more shots of it with the painted front wheel, mods and paint to the front fender, rear wheel centre spike, rear break res cover, and relentless decal on the rear wheel.

Cheers mate, I got the idea for the wheel decal from a bike I saw in SF Mag, it read "AREA 51"

On my rear wheel I got the guy to cut me the "Relentless" decal and one the same size "Fireblade" for the opposite side of the inside rim, both in the same red as the bits I painted myself. It kind of evolved from the Relentless can I used for the oil filter cover, that was a close match, colour wise, to the paint job of the bike.

I dont know if you remember mate but I dumped my rear break res for a small section of clear hose. well that went a bit cloudy so I brought one of the Relentless "shots" drilled a hole in the bottom of the plastic bottle and slipped it over the top. Its not easy to see in the pic mate, but it does look cool because what it is, and what it does.

Grab a bucket of water and give your wheels a clean mate, who knows where it will take you next.

Hey guys,im now getting close to fitting the SSSA and hate to drag it up again but how did you work out the 8mm size for the spacer for the VFR wheel on the blade. Can it be checked wlth the frame width etc.I remember you saying you didnt have one before and it seemed OK !!
Also do you think the standard length of studs would still be ok with an 8mm spacer.
When working out sizes for fitting a car wheel you were using a 40mm offset, was this a size provided by the wheel maker.Sorry for all the questions, hope to have the beastie finished soon and get some pics up.Thanks.

Mate, feel free to ask as many questions as you like, the only thing we like better than owning, building, and riding streetfighters is talking about streetfighters.

Our mate on here made a jig to find out if the Vfr wheel sat true in the CBR frame when fitted with the spacer at the pivot end of the arm up near the shock.

His findings were that the centre of the wheel was negative off centre by 8mm and therefore would need an 8mm spacer to bring the wheel back to the centre line of the bike.

Now then, I didnt know that when I first did mine and found no reference to it on the net, so never fitted one. I never had any problems with the handling or uneven tyre wear.

When I fitted my car wheel I decided to incorporate the advice of tomanyprojex because I respect his opinion and his findings, hence my 30mm spacer. 22mm + tomanyprojex 8mm = 30mm.

I see your in the UK mate so check this site out as you can buy car wheels by the one.

http://www.alloywheels.com/search.asp?numrecordposition=1&strSize=17%22&strkeywords=4x100%20et35,4x100%20et37,4x100%20et38 ,4x100%20et40,4x100%20et42,4x100%20et45,4x100/56-1%20et45&strSort=Low&Make=Honda&Model=Civic%20>00

Just enter these details (Honda) (Civic >00) (17") and you will find page after page of wheels to choose from. the stud patten for your VFR hub is 4 x 100 and will be highlighted in green along with the offset.

I wouldnt go wider than 7" on the wheel or you will have problems keeping the wheel centred in the frame.

The offset (et) is no biggy, and all you need do is work out the spacer to suit. for more info on the car wheel thing check out the pdf. in the how to section of the site.

Hope that helps mate,

Jonatha.

As always. Only critic would be as Lance said in reference to the headlight. Could it be brought in slightly? Maybe angled down a bit more? Still looks superb mate

Hello mate!

I've been looking for brakelines, i knew you bought a 1200mm long, i got a offer to buy one but its only 1000mm long will it be enough?

Check out http://www.venhill.co.uk/Motorbike_brake_lines,_clutch_lines_&_cables Bjórn, you can have your lines fully made up to the exact length you like, or you can make them up yourself, orrrrr, you can have one end factory made and the other you can do your self. I did the last option as I wanted to run the line through my single sided swing arm and out the other end.

They are a good company with a fast service, and I would highly recomend them.

Hope that helps buddy. :D

Totally agree Jules, I'm on the lookout for something to replace it mate, seen a couple of options I quite like on € 6áy but nothing with the w[8D]w factor, that I can afford anyway.
