I'm chasing a 4-1 on ebay at the moment...trouble is most os 'em block access to the drain plug.
What I'm wondrin is if I can convert it to the sprung connection type thingumy for easy removal at oil change time ??
Any one got a knackered exhaust of his type I can play with ?

Been lookin at this....might do a joint where the 4 pipes converge..that way it is a simple sleeving job....got me a belly pan that fits just right so you wouldnt even see it. Obviouslyn it needs to be on a section of the pipes where they are parallel or I'll never get it apart.

I think the only issue is the force of the gases coming out of the exhaust port will apply pressure to the first curve of the header and try and push it away from the head. So you'd have to have some heavy springs and I'd say some gasketing in the join. [?]

I only know of 2-strokes that employ that type of join.

I think it was common on old race bikes from the "70, they were call quick change exhausts maybe?
