Before I wire my acewell up I thought I'd ask where people had mounted their speedo sensors. Pics would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

What type of bike Ice?
I have a hall effect sensor mounted to my front original speedo drive on my Suzuki.
Only works with Acewell that have the number underlined on the speedo itself.
Hope I am making sense, Dr. Stolis in the house.
Cheers

Hey Mr Iceman,

I mounted my magnetic bolt into the front disk as most others have and then mounted a triangular plate using front axle retaining bolts.

Im sure being your a gucci metal worker you will do a hell of a lot better job than I :D

Once I find pics, will post. Im sure you will have found a suitable way by then...

Hey Ice, I have the sensor stuck on the front disc and the magnetic bolt is attached to the caliper bracket (mine had a few extra holes in it).

You could easily work up a stainless bracket to hold the bolt though! I'm sure one of the apprentices' at work would help you out mate... hehehe

All I can say is be careful if you do the back wheel. Think hard about where you put it and mount it well the first time. I put mine on the back wheel but wasn't too sure if the positioning was right so I took it out for a test spin, which resulted in it slipping and being eaten by the chain. I had to get a new one from Stu. The next discovery after fitting it correctly was that I forgot to allow for chain adjustments. The sensor is so sensitive that the slightest few mil makes all the difference between it working ot not. If you can mount it on something that moves with the wheel and sprocket on adjustment (say the brake hanger for instance) you'll have no problem. Mines mounted on an adjustable slide mount I made now so I can always realign it. Front wheels will aleviate this problem but will leave you with an extra cable showing if you have a minimal front end (like you do).

Thanks for all the info guys. I've decided, I'm gunna run it off the rear disc and mount the sensor from the caliper bracket. Haven't really had time to get out and do anything yet as the misses is away and the bloody kids are still here.
