Fitting the bandit (first pic) sump to a 90 1100 and found a couple of differences, see parts 20 and 21,listed as spring and plunger-oil control they don't exist on the bandit, what do they do and do I need them? Also part 18 fouls on a pipe listed as pipe-oil under left hand (part 14), can I modify this, is it oil pick up or return? Will post diagram below. Thanks.

Gibbo check this out, it's the oil return hose from the head that's fowling. Maybe cut it back or get one off the Bandit motor.

I've officially done my head in over this now! I've compared the part numbers between the 1100 hoses and the bandit's and they're the same. Actually I've checked the differences in the whole oil pump. The oil pump assembly has different part numbers(but looks identical), the oil pickups are different, the 2 bolts that hold the oil pickup on are different and the bolts numbered 5 & 6 are different. So if you've put a bandit pickup in and it fits, I can't see why the sump would foul?!?!

Thanks mate, surely if it's only the return I can modify it. Right?

Got the pickup on no clearance probs, it is part 18, valve that fouls, but you are right they look the same, maybe I just gotta get the thing higher of the ground and get under and have a good look.
Any ideas about that spring and plunger?
Ps have a great holiday mate, make sure you come back with a tan ;)

Ok, I've figured out what I've done! My motor is A GSX1100F which has different part numbers for the hose No.14 to the GSXR1100 but the same as the bandit! My Bad!

Not sure about the plunger mate, if the bandit's don't need it in the sump I can't see why we would the motor is basically the same.

Cheers mate! I'll definitely be working on the tan and the beer belly! Probably at the same time!
