View Full Version : Allen Keys
Need a decent set of allen keys after using shit for a long time. what brands does everyone have and where did you get em? I'm thinking the T handle ones are the best? previously had a set with a ratchet handle but broke that.
Cheers

bondus are the only brand to have mate. avoid anything that relies on a plastic handle to hold it together.
bondhus is imported by irwin tools. expect to pay close to $100 a set. if you get stuck i can look after you at the right price as we have them on the shelf but you will have to pay the post from melbourne.
if you don't need a whole set bondhus also sell them seperately. i ended up just buying the ones i needed about 4 years ago and they are still going strong with no rounded tips or breaks.

Snap on is way overrated
I personally like the hex head drill pieces but they're not always suited to everyday applications
So I have a trusty set of Allen keys from Bunnings which I keep handy for just those situations which I think cost me about $30?

ive a set of metric stanley ones with ball ends [and i abuse tools evry day on excavators ]ive battered em with a lump hammer had 2foot long bars on em and their still ok ,nad if you manage to break em just cut them off and stick em in a socket of the appropriate size for some handy rachet allen keys

I've got bondus and unbreako, both are great .. If your going to get cheap keys wear safety glasses when you use them, i snapped a 6mm key earlier this week and a piece hit me in the face at the speed of light... them put the unbreako on it with a foot long pipe and twisted the cap screw in half .. fuck as tuff
already gone the cheap route fellas and they broke so no more of that. it was actually a stanley ratchet set. cheers for that deano,(and latheboy) will see what i can chase up but will probably be in touch.
