About 4 hours later.

First day of the build, just a chance to do a it of a mock up prior to taking it all to Ben's next month.

Looks like the steering stem will need to be pressed out of the CB clamps and pressed into the GSXR clamps. Spacers needed to locate Katana swingarm and how to adapt the Honda's 14mm swingarm spindle to the Kat's 16mm item.....Funny thing was the frame was only made to take a 14mm spindle but the swingarm in the CB takes a 16mm spindle [:0]...must have been interesting to punt around

Apologies for the pics....I've got no sense of frame and t was on my camera phone.....will beg borrow or steal a better one

Early 750s & 900s had a 14mm pivot later had 16mm . Drill it out to 16
You have got a solid mount frame though which is a good start.
I braced a race frame with 1.6mm 50 x 19 RHS and cut bits of a fucked up old CB frame for the round bits

Quick update

Not much happening, chased up some axle adjusters & blocks and a rear axle. Toying with running wire wheels GS750\1100 hub on the rear and XS650 (apparently XV535 hubs are the same)on the front. Good thing about the yammy hub is that it's a simple matter of a bearing & inner spacing change to fit on a 20mm axle and Yamaha kept the same front disc bolt pattern for many years, Anyways we'll see what happens in that respect.

oh well someone likes me found a front and rear wheel so spokes it is for Sunday cruising and mags for trackdays

Ok playing around today, engine is hanging off original bottom mount.Have an idea of using the CB front mounts (maybe get lucky with heights) but means the engine will be 45mm forward of where it is.And hopefully not a great deal of modding of the tank to sit nicely

Thanks mate, it's been a battle keeping my mind on track. I'm coming to realize it's a lot to do with focus and not thinking anything is impossible.
