Hi There

just wondering if this has been done, and if so how trick it would be?
im a bit hesitant to hack into my engineered frame if i dont have to

but wouldnt mind doing some cut&shutting etc on the swingarm

this has all come about due to my recent trip to japan, you can buy a set of Yoshi rear shocks for about $350 that im starting to think might look a bit better than putting the mono-shock gixxer swingarm i have here
keep that old-school kinda look, ya know?

anyways, what do you think would look better in the end?

ps- i got a PHAT looking kerker full system for $300, WOOT :D

Fimp, i put a 1990 5.5in GSXR rear wheel in my Kat, i used (i think) a 88 750 sprocket carrier and cush drive as they ran a 4.5in rear wheel but i cant remember what spacers i used it was either 5.5in spacers or 4.5in spacers not a mix. No other mods than the ones i said. The chain runs straight but close to the tyre. Also mod your brake torque arm for clearance. If your talking about later model wheels well im fucked if i know.

thanks ozkat, was actually thinking about the chrome wheels i have on the tiller at the moment.
then it'll match the exhaust which is a chrome megaphone

then look at getting some nice dark coloured ones from the tlzone groupbuy

but if a 4.5 isnt too hard then i doubt a 5.5 will be impossible ;)

cheers

oh and sorry, but no photos yet cos the zorst is still in jap-land til i can deide if i want those shocks...

Several other Suzuki's have a 4.5" rim or the same sprocket carrier as the 88' GSXR . RF600 , GSX750F , GSX600F , RF900 and many others do as well.

4.5" rims are pretty hard to come by and bloody more expensive than 5.5" rims

Last time I wast over at Bikewreck at Chipping Norton they had about 6 x 4.5" rear wheels . He charges about $300 per from memory.

I had to mill a bit of the bracing off the inside of the swingarm to clear the tyre.

No no. I mean a later arm with dual shock mounts welded on to it.

Should be minimal cutting

THAT is a good idea!
nice one large!!!!

would boost the rigidity of the rear end too, rather than cutting into the stock arm ;)

got sny photos of examples?
