Hi Guys,
I've been GIVEN an '89 GSXR1100 with a '92 motor. It's in california and I need to ship it here. I was under the inpression that mid '88 was the latest year you could import.

will it be possible to bring in a '89 bike with '92 motor?

Somewhere I remember a law that states you need to have owned the bike in the US for a set ammount of time

Dagnammit I'm fuckin lost, please help!!

The laws are 15 years or older otherwise it's a parallel import. Talk to Chopper Nick Custom Imports as he will ship the bike back for you. About $900 plus clearances , cleaning and duty

I suspect by the time you pay all the extras it may not be such a good deal.
check it out fully before you commit.

I'm leaving the frame, tank and bodywork and bringing everything else over on a pallet as "various GSXR motorcycle parts"

It'll be $600 bucks all up for the shipment including cleaning, duties etc etc

$600 is good money for a '92 1100 motor, complete front end, complete swing arm assembly and yoshi exhaust all in mint condition!!!!

The money I save will go to PC to build a frame.

We'll see how things pan out but for now I'm ploughing ahead
