This is her with the acewell guage plummed in, twin headlights, no fairings and a subframe and arse end fabrication in progress.
Early stages so far.
Some of you may remember it from The Mad Postie's fighter project.
Since then it has been put back origional{apart from the carbies which are the bain of my exisence}and riden down to Sydney from BrisVegas. Thats when the project really started. still not much done, but i'm on the way.

Looking good mate

are you having carby problems after the exhaust mod?

I have always had the carb issues, the zorst was chopped when i got it.
I just picked it up off the side of the highway, attached it properlyish,
and prettied it up some.
I also put some clamps round it to hold the skin on.
There was an attempted jetting of the carbs (pre purchase)for pods which never quite worked out.
It runs poorly with both carbs and airbox.
The box is just a bit smoother.
the zorst and the jetting prolly both have something to do with it.
i'm gonna get a good carbie guy to make pods work if possible.
I must stress however that i did buy the bike "as is",
so the previous owner is not a bastard.

Coming along nicely Kane

Ok so i'm stalling a bit on the creative front.
i have ideas about the sub frame and seats but lack the tools talent and
knowledge to get anything done.
Found the perfect carbie kit to get the engine rolling along
and i'll order it when i'm closer to the endgame.
i'm stumped as to what to do with the exhaust,
just know i wanna keep it legal.
Don't really want to have a big lump hanging off the side
but i guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

On the upside my frame swinger and a few ancilliary bits are getting blasted today,
which is a step forward.
I've never polished anything from a blasted finish before,
so any and all advice is welcome.

The two thing i do really need help with are subframe and wiring.
I'm willing to pay but rather than just take it to a shop
I'd like to have a hand in the process.
I'd like to be able to say that i had a hand in every aspect of the bike
when it's done.
Cheers.

This is what i might want the tail to look like,
just gotta find out if it is possible to get enough support without
bottom struts. hope so.

Something like this may work you'll want the top bottom spars to be as far apart vertically as possible and then brace the fuck out of it. Even better would be to get some laser cut ally plate - you can work out bending loads based on cross section and max weight - have a look at the current WSB bikes - the tail pieces seem to float so its not unpossible what you are asking for - but it'll have to be engineered/well thought through to get the desired effect.

Try an 7 shape piece that mounts to the original and will eliminate the need for the bottom mount (just dont take heavy pillions)

I would love to have the space to have a
trelice frame under the seats but the moulding and padding means there is only about 15mm till it would hang out.

If i was to make a foam dummy of the shape i want for the seat unit,
is there anyone here i could get to make a fibreglass version?
I would obviously have no problem paying for this to be done.
Any info or offers would be awesome.
And thanks heaps for the input and intrest guys.
Cheers.

Mate DIY it. There is a couple threads here on fibreglassing - Its not that hard to get right - just prep work and get a good mould/template sorted first.

I've made my own custom seat by cutting down the stock one and placing it on the bike - I cover everything on the bike I didn't want covered in glass with a few layers of glad wrap then I used the seat as a base and the bike as a template for the fibreglass. I built up a few layers before pulling it off (after it dried ;)) then added more for reinforcement. Took all of a day and didn't have to pay anyone - of course I'm not mention the couple of failed attempts but that was all in the learning.

Check Shaynes how too of fibreglassing - especially the safety bits - and you'll see its not rocket science.
