Solid bar mount bushes

Hi all,
I need to replace my rubber handlebar riser bushes as they have some play in them from a lowside.
Is it a good idea to have some solid alloy ones lathed up or will it be a heap more vibey with solid mounts over replacement rubber ones?
Bike is an 04 Z1000.

I had 8mm spacers made of alloy under the standard risers on the GSX to get clearance and removed the rubber. Didn't feel a lot of difference and I ran it like that for about 10 months.

Was there noticably less flex in the bars with solid bushes?

Not noticeably. There probly was but I would have been too busy braking to notice[:p]
