I just got these today. I've mounted them upside down to see what they look like. I kinda like them Like this. Let me know what you think........

Unusual but not ugly, from the pics anyway.

The only concern would be how far away you have to look into them from the road ahead.
I've got mine mounted right next to the inside of my handgrips and when I look hard into them, my peripheral vision of the road ahead is gone. I've had to slam the brakes on a few times when I've been so focussed on what's behind me that I haven't seen the car in front stop, for whatever reason.

I've done it on my motard aswell (same mirrors) and scared the crap out of myself by doing a huge stoppy. The scooter rider following me thought I was showing off. :D

Not a fan - reminds me of the starship enterprise for some reason...

Yeh but they attach right to the bars. See here - http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11147

And I got them from this mob, in case anyone's interested - http://www.ballards.cc/Text/1202887225310-1006/pC/1202869851119-8610/CATALOGUE-2008

mine are in a similar place
be suprised if you dont hit those at full steering lock mate

u do get used to it, its not a bad thing that you cant see the mirrors from a normal riding "attack" position
less chance of running off a corner cos your watching your mate behind u ;)

I got mine mounted in the same place as this and its great, looks straight under your arm to whats behind you ..
I think the place you have them mounted looks ok but as others have said i'd be checking the mirrors at full lock..

Rod - Nope no scooter for me! I live in a unit and park the bike in a small storage area (dungeon) It's the neighbours
Gi 4ce - yeah they are indicators built into the mirrors. Has saved me making a bracket to fit the blinkers.

The mirrors just miss the tank at full lock, but in sayin that it's hard to tell if the mirrors are in the right position to see anything once on the road.

Zodiac's with a metric converter . I have a plain set that I've re-used on a dozen bikes over the last 10 years . I found that they vibrate really baddly and when I had them on my old Bandit they were beyond useless and not wide enough to see backwards anyway

I wondered what it'd be like, looking under your arm instead of over. What are the bar end mirrors like for actual rear viewing?

Them the ones chop. Not the best build quality. Is very easy cross threaad the bolts that clamp onto the bars. But really wasn't expecting that much for the price. $80 new.....

Is it too late to return them pappas? Maybe spend a little more money and get some bar end mirrors? To me they look like table tennis paddles. I'm not pulling the piss mate, but it just sounds like you compromised on mirrors that you weren't 100% sure on and are looking for positive feedback to justify your purchase. You stated yourself "not the best quality" if so get a REFUND and find some you rate. But if you like them, keep them and who cares what others think. You are building a fighter to satisfy your needs, no one else's. Glad the scooter is not yours but. ;)

The only bad thing about bar end mirrors is that they add extra handlebar width and make it harder to lane split. ;):D

Totally agree Bear, you should see me coming home from work, been a few close calls, I've had to stop really quickly to prevent being wedged while the narrower bikes and scooters just zoom past. :)[:I];)

Thanks for the comments rod. Bar end mirrors won't work for me while I'm living in a unit as I have to squeeze the bike through a standard doorway, I do like the mirrors, was more asking about the mounting position of them.

Yeah that's the only problem with bar end mirrors, door ways, lane splitting etc. On the mounting of your mirrors.... I reckon facing down would be the go.
