sexcellent. its that bloody long term care levy shit that jacks it up. if thats not what i was paying for in the fisrt place, what the hell was i paying for.
anyway, thats handy to know. my rego is due soon too. thankfully they have brought in a new thing this month where if your "light vehicle" is under 5 years old you dont need an inspection, which is handy cause im still half way through rebuilding mine.

I went with NRMA. My GIO renewal was $663, and NRMA was $483. Just ring around.

This is a link put up earlier by large, it's a calculator that compares all CTP insurers in NSW. Saved me a couple of hundred bucks

Problem is, not all insurers are on there, and even the cheapest can be negotiated down if you actually speak to someone.

I find that website a good place to start. Then I'll ring the cunts and go from there.

Over the past 6 - 7 years I've noticed that while a greenslip might be cheap one year, it can almost double in price the next. But one of the insurers is always significantly cheaper than the others...it's almost like they take turns as the loss taker, knowing that most people wont shop around or change insurers because "we've been with XYZ for 30 years without a claim...they'll look after us", thus avoiding any price collusion nastyness, Dick Pratt style

The banks/phone/electric companies make profits the same way.

In SA we dont get to choose who to erm....choose for CTP,everyone pays the same no matter what age, bike or driving record,$388 for twelve months for a big bike garaged in the country,we can even do it for 3,6 or 9 months at a time.
