Shannons: http://www.shannons.com.au/insurance/bike/

Call them mate and tell them to look at the photo of your bike on this forum while you're on the phone (just talk them through how to find it). That's what i did. He saw the bike on the screen, I talked him through what I'd done, nominated a value and the job was done.

Got my 07 Turbo Busa fully insured with all mods, costs me under $600.00 per year for 25K cover.

Shannon's.

About $1000 full comp for the Busa and B-King on a Multi-bike policy.
Incuding all mod's, option to repair my self, Buy back salvage,
Rider and Pillions riding gear, etc etc.

Needed to be over 25, garage bike, only Occasional commutting
to work. Didn't mind i'd lost most of my points as long as i'd
never been banned.

QBE

$400 p/a full comp and I can actually ride it whenever I want.
Try that with Shannons...

I often wondered, how realistic would it be for a large group of guys to pool their money together and do a self insurance? eg. ASF Bike Insurance? Don't worry, I'm not looking to add more work for Si, I'm just using the name as an example,.... but like the banks from a couple hundred years ago, wasn't insurance all about like minded guys and girls pooling their money together in case of a rainy day?

How much is your bike insured for CC?

Cruisecontrol

$9,500

Far more than it is worth, I must say.

I dont need to ride to work every day so i dont need insurance that covers me for that.

You pay to have your bike sitting in the garage.

I pay to actually ride mine.

It doesn't take a mathematician to figure that one out...

You could also try eBike insurance. They gave me a pretty good premium in spite of last year's smash. I'm pretty sure they can give you an online quote too.

Oh, and that includes your gear and 24 hour roadside assistance.

Cruisecontrol $42 per $1000 insured,
My B-King.... $28 per $1000 insured,
Ozkats Turbo $22 per $1000 insured.

The problem with insurance is that it's only when you make a claim that you find out the value of your policy.;)

It looks like QBE will be the best 4 my insurance hey! On advice from the customer service guy I'l wait till I turn 21 in september coz it drops my premiums by around $400! Full comprehensive will set me back $1161 & 3rd party fire & theft only $655! Thats a hell of a lot better than the $3k plus quotes that ive been gettin...

Thanx Lads! ;)[^]

This isn't as mad as it seems until somebody takes the piss. Think of the numbers you'd need to get mind? Paying out for a $20k bike would take a lot of "pool" money. I approaches Shannons a few years back about reduced rates for ASF and they just told me they were reduced already and "go away" basically.

Bastards! With QBE they offer discounts for being with net-rider & MCA! Baybe try them Si! I asked em if ASF counted...To no avail tho as we wernt on the list!

scotty

just join net wanker and go get a discount.
large is right, when (if) you write your bike off they wiil try to tell you it is worth X amount as a wreck so you have a market value of Y, now subtract X from Y and thats what they pay...
to get around that you need to say hold on a minute Mr ASSesor (provide proof) here is some of the same modle as mine for sale(then make yours sound like its better)but mine has this can and that damper worth X and you will benifit

Nearly 45 and i've lost a few points, but no at fault claims.
Showed them 28 years of continual insurance from the UK though.
Bikes garaged, Brisbane Carindale post code.
They actualy gave me a refund for changing from an 04 Busa to an 07 B-King.
I originaly tried to run 2 policys with them but was told its
cheaper to have 1 policy with 2 bikes. Didn't know they did that.
