That's OK just wait till a few cocky pushy riders who assert their new rights are troweled by our nations blind car drivers. Whats the bet that the first offender will be a P plater on a mobile phone.

Nothing against cyclists, got quite a few friends who ride pushy's, some professionally, but when some stupid fuck rides down the middle of the road holding up traffic oblivious to whats behind them or sits on the shoulder popping out into traffic every 10 metres expecting the 4WD or truck coming up behind to be able to avoid them, they deserve to be dragged off their bike and tyre ironed!!!

Here's an idea for cyclists.

Mirrors
Front and Rear number plates
Hardwired head and tail lights
Rego
Insurance
Licences with demerit points
Appropriate safety equipment
etc etc.

If cyclists have the same rights on the road as their motorised counterparts, let the fuckers pay like everyone else does. My hilux used to cost $2000 a year just to insure and rego, not to mention $100 p'w in fuel $1200 for a set of tyres etc.

Let the fuckers pay.

It only says "on the petrol tank". have it sit anywhere else and it's ok.

Vehicle Impoundment
Questions and Answers
What does the legislation cover?
From 1 July 2008, impoundment will apply for repeat “type 2 vehicle related offences” committed anywhere in Queensland. The targeted offences include:
• Driving an illegally modified vehicle.

What that means Tony is that is you get pulled over for an inspection and you don't have an Engineers Certificate to cover the replacement sub frame on your Gixxer for example they have the power to impound your bike. Same goes for exhausts to some extent too I've been told and may also include "standard safety equipment" too(thats E stamped lights & blinkers) . And it's widely acknowledged that the Qld police are targetting bikes more than ever . Under the law as it stands in NSW , QLD , VIC & some other states it is illegal to modify a stock frame in ANY way without having an Engineers Certificate to cover the modification . Luckily with many of the mods on a fightered frame you just have to have the bolt on Sub Frame Engineered and that is usually no more than $400 .

"What if I (the driver) don’t own the car?"
"What if I (the owner) wasn’t driving the car?"

The headings seemed to be biased towards our box friends.

30 bikes stung in Brissy last week for aftermarket pipes,
The one I know recieved $225 fine and 3 points for being
8db over, was told same offence again carries an extra 48 hour
impound, 3rd offence and it goes up for auction.

Also seen tickets handed out for the usual "shortened" rear
guards ( + 1 point) and a new one on me "Non-folding rearsets
/ footpegs"

I liked the one last week on the Western Freeway.

Pull a couple of bikes over for Filtering / lane splitting /
creaping up the hard shoulder, past VERY slow traffic.
As your booking them, everyone slow's down,
MUCH bigger traffic jam, lot's more folk filtering,
LOTS more tickets...:D

As Shayne said before, we know the law,
we all make our own choices.

The owners of the vehicles to be auctioned on August 11 have had them impounded by police in the Ipswich area after drivers breached Type 2 hoon laws.

They are offenders who have repeatedly driven while drunk, unlicensed, disqualified or suspended, failed to supply a breath or blood specimen or have driven unregistered, uninsured or illegally modified vehicles.

I'm just amazed that people actually ride a motorbike with their dog on the bike :(
What happens when fukwit car driver causes an accident...does the dog slide down the road attached to a bike.....or fly through the air and end up a bloody mess...[:0]
Personnally I luv me dogs and wouldn't do anything so crazy...
We know the risks involved....bit difficult explaining it to the dog...[xx(]
