Being that I'm an electrician and a bit of a DC motor nut, I've investigated EV conversions for motorcycles and would like to give it a go but recently I read the National Code of Practice Guidelines for electric vehicle conversions and it seems that the motorcyclists have been shafted yet again.
I've contacted these people http://www.aeva.asn.au/ for clarificationwith mixed response,it seems that some people have just gone out and done it.

NCOP13 states,

"Approvals are not allowed under code LV1 for.
4.Fitting and electric motor to any L-group vehicles (eg motorcycles and motor trikes)."

http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/pdf/NCOP13_Section_LV_Alternative_Power_3Feb2006.pdf

I intend on taking it up with QLD Transport(good luck to me)...
