Thats not a stock one surely - looks great but the photo from the link just isn't the same... The exhaust for a start looks like a down pipe...
Nothing that can't be fixed - I like it ;)

I think thats the nearest Ive seen one of the big four produce a fighter out of the box it even has usd forks as standard, something a few of the other manufactures could take note of.
Shame they had to stick that anti wheelie pole on the back and that eyesore of a zorst on the production one though bloody legislations, but as zx12argh says nothing that cant be fixed

read an article about that bike its a tatrted up version of the stock bike by the italian desugn house who designed the orignal ..ie what they wanted to do rather thatn what honda told them to do ..
but the stock one looks pretty good anyway

Been waiting for this one. That headlight unit has been the onbly thing in the Streetfighter Mag advert for a while. Actually like the light unit a lot in the top photo. The pair of evil eyes above the main light are well cool.

The front wheel following the back wheel design is petty cool as well. Let me see one with the black frame and gloss black tank and I reckon I'd really like it (the nail varnish deep pink does nothing for me).

What's the go with the Barkbusters looking set up?

I think they are mirrors Si, they'd be bloody useless if they are though.

Most of the spec's I read say its had its ball's cut off.
123 / 127 / 128 / 130hp ?
There is also mention of different engine internals / head.
I was hoping it was a full-on Blade motor ?

Initially is was just supposed to have a different map and exhaust from the Blade, then it was smaller throttle bodies, and now it's smaller valves and softer cams. Surely it must cheaper to use the motor as is from the Blade?

Its obviously not a budget bike, with its flash wheels,
swingarm, clocks etc.
Wonder why they didn't go for an alloy frame ?

Pretty sure its spine framed like the Hornet-9.
Hidden frame and plastic covers is something I expect
(and find) on a new CB250.

"If" it is detuned, im sure its only a matter of time
before someone creates a Full-Monty blade version.

Do you think they do it as per the historic demographic of potential buyers? i.e. old time church goers? They are trying to keep it less mental buy using steel frame etc to make it less likely of killing these guys? Or do you think it is so it does not become competition for their main market - race reps?

Tony Nitrous
07-07-2008, 04:16 PM
Im not surewhat their idea is.
It had the potential to wipe the floor with the FZ1,
Speed Twipple, Zed-1000 etc and with light weight and
full Blade horsepower should have upset Bugly Kings.

130 pony's hauling 218kg isn't anything special
for a current spec bike with that parentage.

Tony Nitrous
13-07-2008, 05:59 PM
First roadtest i've found says......

"It'll easily stand toe to toe against the FZ1, Z1000 and
Speed Triple but the poise of the likes of the Tuono and
SuperDuke may be out of reach"

"Engine is coming from the Fireblade. The cylinder head is
coming from the CBF1000"

"the motor has a strong, but linear, kick in its midrange,
although its breathless at the top compared to the 'blade"

thats the curse of jap nakeds...

they always take their top line motors and "re - tune" them for tourqe.
Shit if your making a hard edge naked then people always want the proper motor.

Mind you if they did that streetfighters might get overrun.

Pretty much ever hardcore 'naked bike' that comes outta japan needs bucks spent on it to tune out the problems installed in them.
Being shite exhausts and airboxes and mapping that doesnt just restrict top end it cuts its legs off with a saw

Yeah, The Bugly-King is a few pony's down on the Busa,
but at least the lump are the same. Only external bolt-on's
to change.

"SheepFrightners" mag was testing a CB1000R Honda Demo bike,

Honda claimed around 125 bhp,

Mag put it on an independant dyno and found 115 bhp.

P155 poor effort from Honda given the out put from the Fireblade 1000.
Bike is aimed at cruisers and coffee club posers,
not a serious riders bike, hense the pipe and arm etc.

Mag also said it would be improved by NOT getting the 500 UK-pound ABS option,
and spend the money getting rid of the Honda linked brakes.
Glad someone agree's with my idea of a fun bike.

I dont think they are bad looking,
certainly better than a B-King,

I have it on good authority from someone in the trade,
up against most modern 1000cc bikes that...
...and I quote....
"It couldnt pull a greasy stick out of a dog's bum"......:D

The wheels look like they came off a blinged up Civic.
The paint colour is from the Laura Ashley range.
Its bulbous and yet spikey and fugly.
Battlestar Galactica was the main design influence.
Its lardy.
The power isnt.
Your nan would like it.
It a Pan European without the tupperwear.

Maybe this is Ondas answer to the crippled sales of the Pan?
Fighter it and brand it as a new model :D

1st bloke to stick a full-on Blade motor,

Silly money for a pretty but tame bike.

headlight would look good IF it was scaled down 50%

and those wheels are just.....[XX(]
keen to see how the exhaust looks without the big shroud (looks like just 3 bolts to remove it)

they are trying though...
(dont get me started on why they STILL dont give naked bikes full power, no wonder we keep streetfightering crashed superbikes)

It might sell well,

It never ceases to amaze me how many folk say
"ABC" looks Nice, "XYZ" looks naff, not sure about how the "123" looks,

No one seems very interested in performance any more,
Very little interest in tyre sizes, horsepower, brakes, weight.
More interested in 300 rear tyres, "bling", and other useless shit.

Im sure half the bikers I meet sit down to piss,
so yeah, this should sell real well....;)

Rant over, going for a swim,
Been a long day.........:D

Its shit

It like nearly every midrange bike from honda
Killed by emission crontrols
Designed with an etch a sketch
performance that makes trollys look sporting

And just incase it might make up points in the handling department the put CBS on it because we cant have anyone having fun now can we

I like the overall look, i knew it'd be the same jap naked story> smooth power, big mid-range, runs out of puff up high. It's a shame, but at leats they're consistant. Single swayers on streetfighters look bloody awsome, but i'd have to agree with tony in that single swayers on standard bikes stops them looking serious. As long as it's on par with the other manufacturers on performance and price, i suppose it's just another option.

Happy birthday for monday then Tony. Have you changed the cans on the B-King yet? if so we need pics!!

cheers
Andrew

B-King needs to stay stock untill I get some points back.
Too many tickets getting handed out for pipes/rear guards etc,
Should be OK in a few months. I like the Flat twin exit BODIS
can Ducati style, but wont pay double the Yoshi price for it.
Would like to see if I can stick it up a few V-Max on a stock
bike too before I play with go-faster bits...;)
