so who here currently has a bike build on the go?

and if so what is it and how far are you going with it?


ill start by mentioning my tlr build im sure a few of you are aware of.

im going pretty crazy with it but hopefully it will be done by motogp.

Gearing up and collecting parts for a TRX build, just mild and mainly cosmetic...........for now

1. Finishing off the rebuild of the ZX9 Racebike.
2. About to start the winter rebuild of the ZXR 7/9 STREETFIGHTER - must be finished by Moto GP (October 5)
3. 3/4 through a ZXR 750 RR build to replace the ZX9 - must be finished & fully sorted by October 12.

Currently working as much as possible and saving the $$$$.
Unsure if to spend on bikes or relocate where i've got some elbow room to work.

I am finishing of Joes ols Widowmaker project. Hopefully have it on the road in about a month. Then start saving some pennies for a bandit motor to drop in it down the track 8)

'78 Gs1000 rewire and new rear brake plus removal of fairing and general tidy. '80 Gs450 cafe racer type thingy, doing new rear, new wheels, new dash see how we go. 2001 gsxf which when the funds come along will have k4 gsxr frontend with radial brakes, hayabusa shock with jmc swinger, galespeed wheels and (injected, turboed?) bandit motor. and some bling. loooong termer!

Slave of the Cannibal God - A 70's Santee frame that I have mono shocked , re-necked , modified to shithouse. Now has a modified 38' Waratah tank, 7" over GSXR forks and will get the short stroke GSXR750 motor in it when I get a chance.The back is now lower too.

I'm rebuilding the 12r with a one off subby and tail, german head light and front guard, custom triples + 1287 cc over bore kit aiming for 190+ RWHP and possible 25hp dry NOS shot.

But be honest chop - your just trying to lure Si out with his project specs... ;)

Nah mate. Just showing what I'm doing thats all. The XR will be done in time for a Hotrod show in September , the Santee is something I do when the mood strikes and the Zed is a commuter that I'll build a rigid frame for next year and resell maybe .

been rebuilding the cbr1000f since last AFR!
fixed the shock and pivotsv only to have the crank eat a bearing and rod!
so fark it time for a full rework, chassis, subframe, wiring, lights, tank, seat, and assorted other stuff

My 1400 changes every week.

I'm rebuilding my DT100 bucket racer engine(for the last time)..detuning this time.

Repairing a TT350 for a friend...he flipped it out and now the frame is bent and various other bits are fucked.

And I'm planning a crazy 4 wheeler build...Honda TRX250 fitted with XJ900 motor and drive shaft...have all the bits just lying around.

my triples coming off the road in 4 weeks for a complete cosmetic rework and itll probably end up completely different to my initial plans as usual, but the tails getting stripped and put on a diet ,new paint and after xmas..... if i can find the money[850 bucks] a dry nitros kit

Ive got my 7/11 project that I bought off Deano a couple of weeks ago! The whole lot is most likely gonna get pulled apart so I can paint the frame, swinger & engine...Mmmm flat black! Other than that, I got some new mirrors & indicators on their way + Ive still gotta organise rego' as Im waiting 4 my engineers cert. in the mail & I'm laughing! :D

A tidy up to my GPZ 600 fighter. Cosmetics mainly but might be getting some engine work done as well.

Budget build and can't take long as it's my only transport.

All the work is being done in my shed or at work

I've got a early 900rr fighter almost up to painting. Pretty basic, lights, new dial, shortened pipe, new bellypan, sawn off tail and paint.
My trackbike is also in a few pieces after phillip island. Luckily just cosmetics.[B)]

I got a TRX850. So far its got a remoulded tail with '00' R1 tail light, custom fender eliminator & chainguard, acewell dash, modded front mudguard, new headlight unit. Will be getting R1 calipers, braided brake lines, changing the bars, paint and retrimed seats. Its at d exhaust shop atm gettin a 2-1 exhaust with carbon fibre shorty muffler.

In the process of getting my 05R1 back to ridability.
Had the rip in the tank repaired, Cut down my pipes and removed some baffle.
Soon to be- New custom headlight assembly with custom bracket.
Removed all fairings except back which will eventually be modified.
New custom crash frame powdercoated gold.
Regearing something silly for some real wheely power.

building a slabby powerd slingy framed 7/11 made up of a few different bikes - srad swingarm, 04 gixxer wheels and front end, 320mm discs and trumpy radial brakes to suit, 07 gixxer tail, 38mm carbs and yada yada yada.....it may actually end up in one piece some day instead of the current pile of bits in the corner of the carport :D

DR 650 motard
17" rims with cnc machined hubs, EBC 320 disc & bracket all on order
FCR-MX carb and maybe hindle header and gsxr pipe

And the 1100 is buried somewhere in the garage

2 on the go right now: My ZR1100 Kawa and my ladies ZX6R slammed and stretched.... no it aint gonna be green either !
Pressures on for me to get my Zeph done so her bike can come into the work area of the garage.

Shes doing her own bike mind you. Wo`nt let me do the building part.
I just took the tank and all the plastics off ready to be painted.
Shes a better mechanic and engineer than 95% of the blokes I know. ;)
