Hey guys I bought Joes old GSXF Widowmaker project. Unlike Joe I dont plan on putting a turbo on it .. I will go the simple option and get a Bandit motor worked and drop that in. Like Joe I will keep the plastics (ok I am dodging the fruit being thrown) but its an ugly bike without plastic lets face it... heres some pics of the stuff going on 8)

Poor Joe - he's turned to the dark side :(
At least this bike is seeing the light of day again. Hurry up and finish it already!

I dont think I will do an exhaust .. just dump it out the side ... wondering how much grief you get from the cops with that though ? Anyone out there that runs thier bike that way care to enlighten me ?

Keep the progress pics coming Mark, there are some tasty mods on that bike & IMHO, the 'Busa tail will suit the GSXF's bulbous fairing lines really well.
Kinda ironic that this is a STREETFIGHTERS forum & the GSXF has the most plastic of any bike ever... well.. maybe the K1 Beemer or the 906 Paso or the early Buell's had a bit more but you get the idea.
If next years AFR has an award for Most Plastic, you'll shit it in. ;)

Hey guys I know you are not into tuppaware much but I have but some blood sweat and tears into this old project of Joes and this weekend saw me actually get in and paint the thing so I thought I would share the work and see what you all think. I have to make some plastic surrounds for the seat to make it look pretty but its all done. Any donations of a oil cooled GSXR1100 or Bandit motor greatly appreciated LOL .. I am also thinking of ripping out the dash and putting in an acewell and GPS, in keeping with the whole sports touring thing.
Anyways I painted the thing blue .. let it dry and then painted black over the top covering it in glad wrap and peeling it off .. then followed up with a million clear coats and wet sanding in between for the finish ..

Starting off like this
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm218/WarHound67/Final%20Paint/DSC04112.jpg

Looking pretty rough when first done

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm218/WarHound67/Final%20Paint/DSC04121.jpg

But with some perseverence

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm218/WarHound67/Final%20Paint/DSC04119.jpg

And a little sanding off of the fingerprints

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm218/WarHound67/Final%20Paint/DSC04128.jpg

It got more like this

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm218/WarHound67/Final%20Paint/DSC04126.jpg

Finished it off and back together looking like this

Really neat job there mate , but maybe for future reference they have a product called marbliser mate that doesnt require all those clear coats and sanding in between to get the same visual effect that you are after [:I], but for all your hard work jobs tops.;)

Tried the marbling thing but it didnt do what I wanted it to ... This is sort of 1/2 way between what I wanted and what I could manage ... always compromise 8)
