Dose anyone know if I was to remove the lower sub frame and changed the engine mount position how much structure integrity will be lost and could it change the dynamic and handling of the bike. Bye the way the bike is a 1996 zx9r b2 if you need me to post some pics I can do so.

And all this would be terribly illegal wouldn't it? If it looks clean are the pits going to notice. Hw has everyone got away with it?

only illegal if

A. You get caught

and

B You don't get it approved

I've seen some of the hotrods that are getting aproved these days and not only for limited rego but for full rego so if you go throught the right channels and get it approved then how can it be illegal

Got a mate who has this problem, he's building a 48' Vincent special. But when he went to get it cert'd noone knew what an original Vincent looked like, so they just approved averything. He didn't complain. (which is actually amazing for him, he'd moan about winning the lottery) :D

The problem is that I’ll have to put my bike over the pits and not doing it anytime soon. Bit of a bummer to have to repair the original back end only to hack it off later. I guess if I could find somewhere dodgy.....
What about doing the proper thing and getting it complied how expensive is this does it involve getting an engineer

Sorry for hijacking this thread just waiting till you post your pics! ;)

minimum charge for engineering is $120 in NSW last time i had a chat to the local about headlights

might be more if it is "structural" like the frame

anyone got a pic of the frame we are on about?
im guessing it is the older style cradle and not a twin-spar?

in the process of moving house at the moment so i havent had a chance to take any pics yet should be able to some stage next week.

just another thing if i relocate the miring loom to be under the tank it will run verry close if not tuch the heads. will this need something done to prevent it from causing a problem to the loom. ie heat proof insulation.
