Hi all, just bought a fightered 98 ZX-6R F-series, and it's having fueling issues. Basically, it's running really rich, surging and hunting badly on the throttle in the 5-9k rpm range, then cleans up and revs cleanly to the redline. Has anyone come across this issue with 6R's? Could it be related to pulling off all the ram-air plumbing? Any help would be appreciated.

Ah, thanks mate, I don't think the previous owner did that. Loz's fix in the thread linked to in your link should be a goer. Also, I think it might have gotten some bad fuel, could that also cause this sort of problem?

Had the same thing on my old 97 zx6 forgot to put the carb bowl balance tube back on (the one that goes inside the ram air) these realy need the balance air to be sourced from the same place as the inlet air

Well I haven't cracked the airbox at all yet, but the guy who fightered it pointed out he had pulled this little tube that comes from the intake or airbox out through small hole in the frame right next to the steering head, because initially after doing the fightering it was pushed in and kined up and wasn't running properly because it affected the airflow. Should I move this tube up into the airbox or intake?

Problem solved. Did what Loz here: http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1396&whichpage=2 and now she goes. Oh yes, it goes :D
