My ride (or lack thereof)

Howdy all. Fairly new to the forum. Been prowling for a couple of weeks getting a few ideas, and thought it was time to actually post something.
So this is my '04 model speed triple after running it up the arse of a car. Bloody P platers (well, probably just as much my fault, but ive got to blame something haha).
Decided to use this opportunity to do a few mods. Nothing mechanical, purely aesthetic for now. Its going to be a long drawn out process, as the cash is already going out faster than its coming in. This will be the first time Ive undertaken a project like this, and I dont have the funds to be paying other people for all the touches that would make it special, like a nice paint job, so its probably going to come out the other end looking as ratty as shit, but we'll see how it goes. Its bound to be an experience anyway (as im sure many of you can to).

funny you guys should say that actually. the original plan was to turn it into a showroom bling mobile, but then i realised how naive i was being, so the plan now is a matte (rattle can) black post apocalyptic "mad max" type thing. will see how it goes anyway. worst comes to worst i just wait until i have some dosh, sand it all back and have another go i guess.
doesnt take long to catch the fever does it. haha.

welcome to the triple clan mate ..pity u didnt join earlier i just got rid of the headlights and underseat cans for my 07 speed triple ..i take it its a 595?

when you look around this site alot of people are doing and saying the same as you and so really nice bikes come out at the end

haha, yeah typical. always late to the party. aah, its a 955i, apparently the last of its kind before they went up to the 1050s (according to the good old Haynes).
didnt really know much about the trumpys before i test-rode and fell in love with this one. I grew up in the country riding dirt and Ag bikes, so on a pretty steep learning curve about all things road at the moment.

nice. looks pretty effing good actually.
yeah im just waiting on parts to arrive at the moment (and some more cash), then i'll be hitting up ausfr for some gear and should be all sweet then. definately hoping to have it all done by august at least, but if i get stuck into it i should have back on the road a lot sooner.

This is a 955 sprint. Nothing fancy, just head lights and an acewell gauge. If it dosen't sell soon i'll paint it black and shortern the can and maybe add a belly pan. If it's just a quick fix you want, i hope these pics help.

received my bits and pieces from ausfr today (they are all over my loungerom at the moment). absolutely smitten with them.
heres whats going on:
*black abm billet grips
*black abm streetbar
*666 headlight unit
*666 front mudguard
*black bar end weights
and for good measure i also got myself a matte black craft RX6 helmet.

now all im waiting on is my new sargent cycles seat, and a new needle for my airbrush and i can finally think about getting this monster finished off....although now i think "finished" is a word that will be forever erased from my vocabulary.

just thought id post up my progress. still a few more things to do here and there, and am still waiting on my new seat, but was aching to ride again and cant afford to do much more at the moment.
a bit rough, but still gets a bit of attention.
