R1 front end into early blade

Anyone able to shed some light here. Mate just killed the front end in his 93 Blade and needs to fix it up. I read somewhere of a Blade done like this and we wanted to know if it'd be a difficult job.

Yeah Stu's blade runs an R1 front end. Top bearing cup needs to be machined out to take Late GSXR bearings (actually I think they're the same as R1 ones) 55mm top & bottom. Other wise its pretty straight forward.

usually a stem swap and lock stop mod is all thats needed. press out the yam stem and replace it with the blade stem and bearing set-up. works well on all suzukies so might be a plan.

Yes that's the other option. I didn't do that on Stu's though cause he had an R1 ABM top clamp that wouldn't fit the blade stem without an extra spacer & he was planing on fitting a billet lower clamp/stem for an R1 & he wanted it to be a bolt in. Either way works it just depends which way is suitable for you.
