Made some progress on my blade during the week. Thought i'd show where im at with this thing.

After a few weeks of trying to decided what to do with the tail, i finally settled on no tail at all. I plan to build a real small bolt on/off pillion section, or have a crack at it at least.. But that will wait til last.

Its a pretty simple build (compared to some of the crazy sh#t i see on here) but a few details of it at this stage are;
-Acewell gauge and fighter lights, relocation of wires, fuses and horn, etc
-Sawn off tail section, welded up and cross braced
-Fighter tail light assy
-Modified front guard and bellypan
-Engine fuel and intake mods done by Ron at Balls :(

I should get the rear hugger this week. Then I still need to get the exhaust sorted, finalise a bellypan and decide on paint...

Love the boober tail aswell (just did it to my fighter), looks clean as, are you going to plate around the seat to clean it up?? or are you going to re-mould the seat??

And is the exhaust being left how it is, or does it have baffles in it already?

Cheers freddo, you can grab them from Aus Fighter imports or theres a few mobs in the US who would ship something out.

Yeh, I'll run something around the back to clean it up later, maybe a little plate or some fibreglass. I'll play with the pillion bolt on idea first.
And haven't started on the exhaust yet.. ill look at something minimal.

Thought i should update my progress on the fighter. Its been pretty slow, my other bike has stolen some time the last few weeks.
But now im up to painting which is cool.
This belly came in from Germany today, thanks to Torsten ;). Much appreciated. Anyone after german stuff, see this bloke for sure.
Other stuff i've picked up lately have been bar end mirrors, the final set of blinkers, and a fibreglass hugger.
I managed to cut down the HUGE pipe, grind of the mounting bracket, then blacked it out with a heatproof enamel. Came up nice.
So the tank, belly and front guard are off to get some colour tomorrow:)

Another pic from last night with the belly on. I would take a more side-on shot but my garage is about 2ft wide.

Got my parts back from the sprayers today:)
The colour is lamborghini battleship grey, it has a very light pearl in it.
It took me ages to pick a colour for this thing, I hope they look good on the bike.

Photos are blurry, and the paint looks a bit too blue under the lights and the cameras flash. But you get the picture..

Let me know what you think, happy to of finished it. Well stage one at least. I think the subframe needs cleaning up - something like smokey74, that US bobber blade. I like the high, simple subframe.

Not sure if ill get a chance to keep working on it, its up for grabs at $5k. Having finacial issues balancing 2 bikes with another in the pipelines. We'll see what happens.
If anyones looking at buying something like this drop me a pm. Its in perfect condition.
I'll have to advertise it soon.:(

I'd like to see it in the daylight. I've never really liked the bobber look but you've still got a shit-hot bike there.

Whats the bobber tail like rego/roadworthy/defectingprickcoppers wise?

Hi Clive,

Yep, rear rim is a 17. I think its 5.5 width. It fits a 190x50 hoop.

Thanks mate, ill take some more pics in the daylight. It does look a bit strange under the fluros.

Im not 100% sure on th rules still with the bobber, ive asked around, and it seems like this bike is legal if it had one of those numberplate/reflector holders that runs of the axle around to the back of the rear tyre. It would also need an engineers as the subframe has been lopped in half.
Ive got all the original tail stuff and a 600RR one if needed.

All that stock gear, could you just take off the bobber subframe and seat, and bolt the stock gear back for rego?

Nice indeed. Those lights look like the standard fighter side by sides in a different bracket. Nice inovation.

I dont expect to get what i put into it. I bought an absolutely mint (but pink and purple) blade for 5k at the start of this year. I've put 2 grand into it and a lot of time. I dont want to mess around with high prices and tyre kickers. I want someone to buy it and use it.
Im located in Avondale Heights, Vic.
ALL the original stuff is ready to bolt on for a RWC. It is all in perfect nick. Someone would need to get a replacement subframe because the only one i have is cut in half. Everything else is there. Plus the 600 tail, light and pillion seat.
I'll plant an add in the for sale section.
