now i was told in the past on a different forum "dont even bother trying to polish metal, it takes too long and your results wont be anything like you wanted"
i was also told it would take for ever....

as a test i started polishing everything up today.

used:
400 grit wet and dry
800 grit wet and dry
1200 grit wet and dry
autosol paste.

here is a progress picture set after 15 minutes of polishing on the muffler, and 12 minutes on the rearsets. rearsets will be black in centre.

note, all done by hand, will get the dremel out one day.
not nearly done yet of course

before.

wheels are going to be polished lip with black gloss centre (spokes) as well as polished and black engine parts, black frame and etc.

Try 1500/1800/2000 grit as well and as it gets smoother as you sand try newspaper/autosol it really brings out the shine.
