Just wondering what i should set as the hot and danger temperature levels on my vapour dash, as it has two warning lights.

I was thinking 95 for hot and 100 for danger? I have no idea what it runs at normally though. Has now got Hel oil cooler too if that makes a difference.

cheers

Oil in my head runs at around 100 on a good day so maybe a little higher?

I can remember a toy run a few years back, 36 degree day and we were crawling in stop start traffic. The gixxer was starting to glow it was so hot but it never missed a beat. 100 is to easy for them.

ok just got the sensor in and working, used the bottom oil gallery bolt near the oil window. Sitting still for 5 mins with the engine running (20 degree day) got to 111 degrees C. i got scared though and went for a quick spin to cool it down. runs at about 75 80 while moving (60 km/h). then got stuck at the lights for a minute or so crept up to 107.

I hate to think what it got up to with the old cooler on a 35 degree day. [}:)]

I am used to water cooled stuff so over 100 seems bad. Just have to get used to the 100+ zone as normal, bike doenst miss a beat though.:D Probably set the warning at 105 and danger at 115.

Don't mix up oil temp with water temp they are two completely different things. I would think at least 105degrees min for oil temp as a safety.
