I've only just read about it, that's fucked. So fucked.

I can only imagine they will split the bike and sell (or use) the parts. I spose keep a good eye on Ebay and Aus-Superbikes and all those sites for any GSX14 bits, especially interstate. I'd say these blokes knew what they were doing, so so sorry for you man.

Firstly sorry for your loss, and ill be sure to keep my eyes peeled south of the river.

Secondly i dont know if its been suggested but make sure you check ebay (US), ebay (UK), trade me (NZ), as i'm more than sure if this is not a contract job (ie. someone wanted it), most stolen goods like this goes overseas after stripping and dumping of the frame.

As Des will know I also had the pride of my life stolen from me. It was stolen from Willowbank raceway at the 93 tintop nats.
I know what your going through right now Des and its ain't pretty. To this day I reckon the loss effects me in little ways and at the time I was ready to kill.

I cancelled my recently renewed rego a few months after the bike was stolen. Qld Transport in thier wisdom reissued my plates a couple years later, go figure. At the time and I'm not sure if its still the case, there was no inter-state link between transport departments. In other words if my engine number was attached to a new rego in Sth Aust, it wouldn't ring bells in Qld. Keep on the Transport Dept if you can or know someone within it Des. It's amasing how easy it is to regerter a bike with obvious restamped engine numbers. I just regestered that GSXR with nothing but a road worthy and a signed stat that I bought the bike as the seller refused to give me a receipt.
If you don't get the bike back in full within the next month, I wouldn't expect the bike pieces to surface for at least 6. My uneducated guess would be that the bike is right now sitting in someones garage under a bike cover untouched. If we can make a big enough noise about it, suddenly that bike becomes to hot to handle and it just might be left somewhere to be found.
I to have put a site up for the bike, Google will index it soon.

C#nt's!

Had my "Scud-Missile" ZZR11 nicked in Birmingham,
Lucky for me it hated to run cold, (all or nothing)
and spat the little f@cker off at the 1st T-junction.

I feel for you Des.
Still cant work out why they chose yours?
It stands out like Judge or Venom. Folk half way around the
planet would say "Oi, thats Des's bike"

I would have thought it would be easyier to pinch and break 2
stock 14's than yours? Less risk of being found out? One stock
bike is like another? Yours isn't!! Lets hope thats their downfall.

I'll chuck in another $50 if it helps you get it back.
...and a little more if it involves "educating" the Bastards.

Can't help but think this a wake up call to us all.
Take a good look at what you have as far as security for ya bike.
You'd have thought Des's bike was safe in a roller door, key card lock up.
I'm upping the security at my place in light of this.

The other thing is the insurance. Painful as the increase might be, its less than the value of parts you lose out on.

Give you an example...
Mate in the UK had a full custom framed FJ12 insured as a stock bike no-mods. When he stuffed it the company only paid out for what was insured....1989 Fj12....
Mine was covered for what it was...full custom frame jobby....went it caught fire I got full payout.

Oh and this isn't a dig at anyone...I've been as guilty as the rest since here in Oz, but I'm going legal begal from now on....(as far as ins anyway ;))

Si, next to me is a half finished high rise with 30+ guys working there.
Bike went 5.30 am, just before they start work.
Could of been one of them, could of been the people that just moved out(72 units in our block), could of been the electrician working in the basement(rides a h*rley), could of been someone that followed me home.
You just dont know.

Spent at least 20 hours in the last 4 days on this laptop passing the word around.

Now all i do is wait for someone to slip up.

Can't help but think... These guys obviously don't know what they have stolen. To them it was just a GSX1400 with some flash wheels. They probably thought the wheels would be easy to get rid of not realising there's fuck all of them around. Judging by the fucking WHITE shoes, this scum is also some young chavy cunt that probably hangs out in wanky clubs and bars in your area. I'm pretty sure the photo we're missing is the one of him where he slipped the hoodie down to get the helmet on. Is there an groups that hang around in that park near you that would have seen the bike mate? Groups that would know this fucker? Thick shit scum like this don't usually buy gear for the job and so he'll be wearing his white shoes in the future. I reckon you'll find there is gold chains involved as well. Is there any other stores or shops open at that time in the morning that may have seen which roads he took to leave? Just knowing which direction he took off in may help?

Oh, and add another $100 mate.

Gix, every little wanna be gangstar fuckwit is in white shoes. Its like black on EMO's or fat on Seppo's. I reckon you're bang on about it being some little dumbasfuck wanker local to the area though. I'll bet most of these little streetrat wannabe 'hoods' are in on it in one way or another and will keep their mouth shut.

Can nearly guarantee though that if you find some local 'in the know' junkie and drop 2 thou in his hand he'll give you Name, address, ph no, DOB, shoe size, mothers name, last time they wanked etc etc.

If it was your bike this bloke died on I think that contacting you would be the last priority on the coppers desk at this point in time, and if it was you bike then we can only hope that it is salvageable and that the theiving fuck was really hurting before he died

You'd be fucking surprised what goes on behind the scenes in Canberra. Most of it doesn't make the news so it doesn't tarnish its spotless, upperclass reputation. As Des knows, mine went missing from Willowbank Raceway in 1993, never seen again though like Des (I'm sure) has been doing, I looked around for ages for it in the best detective manner I could. Not a trace. My best conclusion is that the bike was most likely placed in someone's garage under a sheet for a couple years prior to striping and seeing off for very little money.

Do you reckon there was enough gear on it to be shipped out of country?

I got a price to bring a bike in from the UK a couple of years back and was around $1,500.00.

If it was still in this country I reckon somebody would have heard something, all the bits can't just disappear!!!
