Looking scary on the outside, and grinning like a kid at christmas under the helmet. And yeah, that aerial shot is pretty cool. Dunno where it was taken from, though.
it was my first track day for about 2 years, so it felt pretty good. When me and a mate left my place to head out, it was pissing down, but as we got closer we started to see patches of blue sky.
It had stopped raining by the time we got there, but the first session was wet. My mates first ever track session was wet, he managed about 3 laps in 15 minutes, but knee down by the end of the day.:D

A bit under $200, depending on what day of the week - weekdays are a bit cheaper.

O' course it's me going around! I think. With my 1/5th turn throttle, that's against the stop. Talked to a few people about it, and lot's of guys liked Deano's clutch cover.
Also got to watch what must have been the world's slowest B-King wobble around[V].

Very nice shots, Hooli.

Are those ride days much of a hassle?

hooligan
06-05-2008, 10:12 PM
What do you mean by hassle? This one was a breeze, no serious crashes on the day,and scrutineering was easy.
My mate (who lost his track virginity on this trackday) did another one a month later, that had 2 guys crash heavily - one needed a chopper ride.
And Pete, ben told me a bit about your day,was hoping you'd post some pics (I had a sneak peek on the jpmphoto web site hoping for some shots of ya bike heading down the straight:))

Yeh I should've been more specific.
What's needed to pass scrutineering and what gear do you have to wear/have?

If you got a blue slip, you'll pass scrutineering. Things like no oil leaks (well, no puddle under the bike), chain tension, throttle that snaps shut, brakes, no loose bits that are gonna fall off. Just good general maintenance, really.
You've gotta wear full leathers (1 or 2 piece), and helmet/jacket/gloves. And since it's the superbike school running it, you can hire gear for about $30 if you need to. You can even hire one of their race-prepped 600's for $300.
XB9R, airbrushing is by dave brown, i got in contact with him through exben.

Wrist was Ok. Well, better than road riding, anyway. Probably 'cause i was only riding 15 mins at a time, and not having to hold the clutch in like you do in traffic. That and the massive adrenaline rush:)
And Bear, ithink he did Exben's lid, too.
