Turns out the local Bike Doctor does housecalls so the front end is out. So it's off to egay for some forks and go fast bits...

Anyone want a nice set of slightly bent forks? (maybe I should put them in the members section first... [:p] )

Nice one mate,
Well the Busa was built to hunt Blackbirds so it seems only natural to use a NINJA to Hunt and tame Hayabusas.
cheers Rod

You are a very good boy young Richard [^]
YOU NOW OWN 2 KAWASAKIS. [:p][:p]
I'm <s>bi</s> curious about what you mean by Busa hunting, do you mean you're going to Dragrace it? Turbo it? Or what?

Large
03-05-2008, 09:32 PM
It's been bought purely for straightline timetrial events...1/4 mile and Burt Munroe stuff hopefully.

While a turbo would be nioce as the whole frame becomes the plenem and you get to hang billet anodised bits from the holes in it, I'm thinking that Nitrous and lots of it appears to be the way home for this little red duck [:p]

Nice score!

The guys at LAE know there way around ZX12s, I believe they helped Staytie out. They have built everything from Big Blocks, NOS, Turbo Streeter and Pro Bike Motors.

hey large how about a muzzy kit... http://www.muzzys.com/ZX1375/index.html

They reckon it gives you 210 horses to play with.... it should be enough for a decent 1/4 time....

Large
05-05-2008, 07:31 PM
Greg, Thanks for the heads up. Is he online in any forums?

Shayne, thanks mate I'll get onto them

Chadams, Eventually I'd like more inches, but it's only supposed to have 7200 ks on it so don't want to be rebuilding it yet

Which brings me onto my next question.

I read on a forum (that I cant find again) that until april 00 the 12's had forged pistons, mine is a March 00 build so I was wonder who to contact to check if this true or not (without taking off the head)?

Hey Large - if your exhaust headers are undamaged an you dont want them, let me know. Im moving into a unit block soon so I need something quiet for my 12. Likewise, if you want the full yoshi system thats currently on my 12 let me know; maybe we can work something out. Im on Sydneys Northern beaches.

PO,

ATM I'll be running what's on it. If I change it will most probably to a sidewinder type setup for ground clearance

erm gravel rash red... nothing really salvagable in terms of the fairings sorry mate. got a full dash unit tho. I'll dig through my box of bits and see what really is going on - might have some indicators you can have for cost of postage if you want.
If you are going to fighter it I'm probably getting rid of my underseat exhaust - 1200 bucks worth of stainless and cans... I'll be getting rid of that cheeeeeeeep.
I think I might hae a mirror to replace the fucked one...
Like I said I'll dig around and let you know after the weekend.

Pete,

Thanks for the offer, but I don't really need the indicators etc as I'm going to race the thing

Large

Pete, one thing you could do is tell me the ground clearance under the sump with you on board if possible.

Meanwhile, the front wheel was dinged a bit so I got it straightened. As a bonus they didn't burn off the nickel plating so the wheel doesn't need recoating.

Also got a coupla goodies in the post.

Good stuff mate, i put my extensions on tonight. Can you buy a flatter sump for the ZX12R? It maybe good insurance, i know a few of the Busa blokes have been damaging sumps with a lowered bike, maybe its just a Busa thing, im not sure. Go the NOS mate, the Kawasakis seem to like it. No need to wave at me , ill just flick the bird at you as i go past

Yo can't really see it but the sump and exhaust are about the same height so If I change one I may as well change the other.

as for NOS......I saw a fucking nice Turbo today[:p]

Where from? I've looked and no fuckers got the one I want..except maybe Brocks at 1100US ish

Also, I've only got about 40mm front travel and the headers ate about 70mm off the ground there, so I figured they'd only hit if the frame bends.:D

Oh and the sump is as low as the zorst so that's another 1000:(

29-06-2008, 09:32 PM
You can get a Muzzy for around $900us depending where you buy, thats not much help tho. I got a quote up here to get a drag pipe made it was around $700.00
