I need to change my GSXR1100 diafram clutch to the spring clutch setup. Is it simply a matter of changing the whole clutch pack over or do i have to change the clutch basket as well as other things?

I think the hairdryer Oz is going to use will be putting out a bit more than that!!!

Im 100% sure that a 300hp+ turbo'd wheelie barred dragbike with a 8.5 or 10in rear tyre launching at over 8000 rpm will destroy a diafram clutch and you cant buy a lockup clutch for a diafram clutch anyway :D

Hey Greg i didnt know you could buy a lockup for the diafram clutch. If i was to use a lockup with the diafram clutch do you think the standard clutch would be up to it? Rebuilt with new parts ofcourse. Also can you actually buy heavy duty bits for a GSXR1100 diafram clutch?

i have heavy duty bits in my bandit clutch like heavy duty plates and i used barnett diaphrams and its heavy at the lever but worth it thats for sure so i'd say you should be able to get some heavy duty parts for the gsxr shayne

I think the diaphram lockup will have less adjustability than the good mtc style with variable anti weight springs, lockup is good for holding hp without needing a superman grip to use it but is great for dialing in to throw the clutch for a fast repeatable launch.
wait till you can hold the bike at 7-7500 rpm on 2 step rev limiter full throttle and throw the clutch and launch smoothly , feels like your rubberband powered
