Finally after a year and a half I'm back on 2 wheels and it feels awesome. Been travelling for the past year and now trying to settle down in Melbourne (still on a temp Visa). Couldn't wait to get a bike though and bought something cheap and fun.

It's a 1985 Kawasaki GPZ600, not standad.[8D]

You might recognize it as Streets bike. It's got Fireblade running gear, custom rotors, ZX9 race tail piece... Oh yes, and no fairywings :D:D

Need to do a bit of work, but all budget as I'm broke as fuck...

Need to get a tune up as the engine sounding a bit weird after getting soaked in the past few days rain. (Have a thread open on that).

Also want to re-spray the frame and swinger to black. Going to try to do it myself. Shouldn't be too difficult to remove the engine on an old bike I think (Hope!!!!). Then ake the frame and swinger to work to blast it and spray it. Prob check the welds on the frame while I'm at it too.

Good stuff Jules, I'm glad that bike went to somebody on here, I reckon you got a real bargain too with all the work that's gone into it. [8D]
AND IT'S A KAWASAKI [^][:p]
So can we put you down for the next ASF Vic group ride?

Hell yeah.

Need to give the bike a good ride. I just need a heads up so I can take a day off work as I work on most Sundays. Saturday would be better for me.

So much so that I took those pics today while I'm at work. Working part-time in a bike shop, selling accesories and stuff. Can give ,all members 10% off. I'll open a thread on that asap.

Nice one Jules. I'm glad you got that bike mate as I really like what he did to it and didn't want to see it go unloved or crashed. Good on ya mate.

WTF Jules ?? Weren't we good enough to be invited along for your "1st decent ride" [V]
Are you ashamed to introduce us to your mates [?]
Then again... after the Xmas do at Bikecraft, I'd probly be ashamed to introduce "those ASF pissheads" to anybody I know.

Hahaha, oh the memories.

I remember how good it felt to get back on a bike after I was backpacking around the country. Bike was slow as hell, but was still fun to ride :D
