I need help, I'm looking for a length of stainless steel rod suitable for use as a shift rod, as my current one broke on my ABM setup [V].

1) needs to be around 257mm long,6mm diameter and
2) treaded prefered,M6 L/hand tread and R/h at other end,16-17mm length of tread at both ends
or someone who can tread rod as needed or shop to buy whats needed
3) can be long enuf to make 3-4 pieces as spares.
4) the stronger the grade, the better
I have tried Linear bearings,no luck.

Im in Melb and was planing on riding up over 4 days.

I know its short notice, but if I cant get it sorted ASAP,I cant ride it to AFR and I dont wanna ride the busa up there :(

Thanks

a small jobbing engineer should be able to help you thread it, yellow pages
you should be able to get s/s rod from a chandlrey [boatie shop] or a steel stock place.. ie Metalland ?

I got a previous employer to make me a couple of shift rods and treaded them too.
Now all I need is the defect notice lifted, which wont get done till Tues, bloody public holidays :( ,by the way, just wanna thank the guys at BIKECRAFT.
I just gotta wait and hope vicroads doesnt fuck me around with the notice on Tues, or the trip I had planned is screwed, may need to make a backup plan...
