First plan of attack is to get that tank to the smash repairers and see if they can fix the tear in the side of my tank.

While it is at the repairers I'm going to take the Exup Valve off the exhaust, gut the Cat. and also rip those stock baffles out and replace with new.

Will post pics of the process of ripping the cat and baffles out next week. (plus a little more beer consumption :D)

Shit ay, rough luck. Hope your not needing any repairs to any major tears. Guess you get to do that custom bodywork after all now huh. THere are easier ways to convince yourself tho...

Yeah no major damage to myself just a bit of a sore ankle. I had all the gear on leather jacket, race pants, boots, gloves and even had a back protector on.:D

Out of those articles my boots, gloves, helmet are all fucked and my jacket and pants just has some grazes [8D].

Just last night won a new pair of alpinestar boots and gloves of fleabay to match me jacket and pants.

But now that i have to pay for them i'll have to wait until next pay to start getting some things for me baby (bike) [}:)]

Ahh I can see from your pics exactly what has happened here. So you were riding along at 130ish you get a beautiful lean into that corner and then it happened...... you realised you were on a yamaha and just had to get off and buy a suzuki. [8D] Seriously tho, bad luck dood. Glad you are ok and only your wallet is hurting.

A bit of hard luck there mate but at least you came out ok. Didn't know if
you new that taking the exup valve will probably effect your mid range,
just thought I would let you know before rather than after you had done it.
Good luck with your build.

Yeah i don't really know how much removing it will effect the power, planning on re-gearing it anyhow so might not be so bad.

R1's have fuck all midrange as it is, Id probably be leaving the exup in, or at least make sure it can go in again if you dont like it.

good to see you pulled through and had the right gear

dont those thinks have variable length velocity stacks?
not sure how removing your exup is gonna effect things...

other than that its all pretty straight?

Yeah after removal it will be able to be put back on. So hopefully works out.

Don't know yet weather to cut my exhaust pipe to make it a shorty pipe either.

I hit up Sydney Dyno about getting more bottom and mid-range from my R1 and they advised to leave the Exup working and not to drill out the Cat. It was a bit hard to hear about the last one because I'd already drilled my Cat out, thinking it would give me better flow. [V]

But it turns out that it actually increases swept volume and there-fore lessons bottom to mid. I've got to either replace mine now with a Cat version or get a smaller diameter Ypipe made up, which is probably what I'll do.

Lots of "wive's" tales out there. ;)
