hi all,
just wondering if anyone has any idea how to mount/setup a magnetic speedo drive that came with my Acewell Digital Dash(ACE-3701).

It comes with all fitting instructions, however it doesn't have any info on how or where to mount the magnet or the sensor.

Any help anyone could offer will be greatly appreciated.

The Acewell units come with a screw in magnet that has a M6 thread, the most popular place to mount it is into the front disk carrier.
It doesn't matter how far from the axle out it is as long as it doesn't foul anything ( brake caliper, fork leg) on it's way around.
Best thing to do before drilling anything is to check that your chosen magnet mountng position will allow you to mount the sensor in a conveinent spot. A simple bracket is all thats required to hold the sensor. eg a piece of thin aluminium angle with a hole drilled in it to mount to one of the axle pinch bolts will suffice.
I haven't got any pics of sensor setups but Im sure someone on here with an acewell will have one.

Wiring runs along the swingarm behind the brake hose so is almost impossible to see.

Yeah, epoxy the magnet on, and zip tie the sensor on, piece of piss.

Huey does your speedo work alright, because the sensor isn't pointing the right way.
It should be like this. Otherwise neat install.;)

CC's setup is perfect, & mounting the sensor on the brake caliper hanger ensures correct alignment even when the chain is adjusted.

Yea, that's the mistake I made. I now have a slider for the pick-up as well that I have to adjust each time I adjust the chain! I will get around to a CC type set up eventually. Just takes a bit of brains hey?

Cheers Ben , I actually haven't had any probs at all , I have set the wheel diameter up and cross checked it with my GPS unit and it is spot on [^]
