my brother inlaw has finaly started 2 tart up his gpz 900r
its a 90 a7 ....i have allready sold him my old 6 spots (k2) ready 2 fit, but his track bike is waiting for parts he want 2 take the gpz out 2 the next run so he asked me 2 see if there are any z heads here that know waht rims fit the back end of these bikes
it runs a 5"? 150/70/18 .. he would like 2 go 2 at least a 5.5 with 180/55/17 keeping the same swing so axel sizes need 2 be the same
any 1 have any idea i was thinking a 90's zx7r or zx9r [?][?]
thanks lynton

I've got a cheap zzr600 rear...Its only a 160 tyre but at least its 17" and he could get decent rubber.

I've put an early vtr1000/ cbr600 5.5by 17 on one, it ran the 20mm rear axle, had to machine down the sprocket carrier a bit to line up the chain. From memory we ran a 170 as the 180 rubbed on the standard swingarm but not 100% sure. Ive still got it, if hes in the brissy area and wants to borrow it to see if it fits give me a yell

G'day ozzy. I'm a newbie lookin to do a similar wheel swap on my gpx750. Just wondering if ya found anything that fit the standard swingarm? Any info would be great. Cheers.

Troy, try asking Streets what he had to do to his GPZ600 or read a bit of this:

Julian (Wackyrider) is now the proud owner of that bike.

Cheers Si. Just read it and got some good info. Damn nice work he done and on a budget too. Long live the shed build ups! Hittin the wreckers next week (hopefully) with swingarm in hand to see what I can find.
