Right homos,

What's the best clear coat for polished aluminium?

I've made a downhill bike and want to keep it raw, mainly to see when my welds break haha
It will get crashed and abused so the clear needs to be fairly good and I don't want it to turn yellow.

Werd.

Raw aluminum doesn’t oxidize after hydroblasting

But it's not shiny, I want it to be a mirror and be able to see all the machining marks.
blasting will remove all of that.

How cool will it be blinding people as the bike does backflips while I crumple into the dirt?:D

Won’t dull machining marks, has zero effect on surface but no
it won’t shine like a polished but plug lol

Foodsafe Silicone spray is the answer. Just don't get it on anything that you might one day want to paint.

Just boil the plug...
Hmmm I might want to paint the frame one day, can it be cleaned of with something toxic ?

Probably. Be prepared to suffer silicone fisheyes on the first painting attempt though.
