Hi all, just got in this forum. I need some help. Got a vz800 97 with a damaged crank. All other engine parts are good. To regrind the crank was quoted $1800. New crank from Suzuki $1200 plus one Conrod $120 plus bearings , gaskets etc. I would buy an engine if I could find one. Iam thinking of fitting a different engine to this frame. Has anyone done anything like this. What engine can be fitted, what are the engineering requirements to be registered in Qld. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Cheers.

Yea, apparently the M50 motor was discontinued in 2010 and the exact same replacement now is the C50.

"For 2010, the M50 was given a major redesign. The M50 motor was discontinued, and the current model M50 now uses the same motor as the C50, consolidating production and simplifying parts sourcing."

Rod is on to it above.
