The angle just brings the bars further back and makes for a more comfortable and upright riding position (and easier wheelies if that is you thing !!). If you want to keep the fairing on the 929 you have to cut the screen a little, which is what I did on mine, and then a few weeks later I went all in and just took the fairing off anyway ;-)
