Ok, before I forget and another year goes by: after 12 years the penny has eventually dropped that April is a shit time of year for a get together! It all came around because Shayne Parker thought we should get together and we picked a date out of our arses. Turns out; a wrong date. Yet again we got pissed on in a big way, just like every year and this is the reason Casino died. So next year we need to pick another date after May and before October as this is the best riding time of the year North of Sydney (NFR is for the South). So anyone got any suggestions of a new name and date etc? Thought it could be fun if we throw it out there. Let me know.

Currently it looks like late May would be a good time, after all the holidays around April and the start of May.

If it was a weekend following a long weekend maybe less police will be on the road as they may have used up their hours policing the double demerit weekend?

I think the end of May would be good, as you say Rod, very little policing as all the holidays are done. heading towards June and July its starting to get a bike cold and August is just a bugger with the winds.

So I guess we aim for May 26th 2018. That gives everyone PLENTY of time to organise holidays and excuses.

Based on the fact that is is an AFR replacement and the weather is the factor once you get past Sydney, then I'd say anywhere North of Sydney. Broad I know, but suggestions are welcome.

Maybe a bit further south than that. Port Macquarie area perhaps? Somewhere more mid way. I know we have done Walcha, but maybe someone in that area knows the surroundings a bit better and knows a hidden gem?

Holy shit! There's a name I haven't heard from in years. How you going mate?

When you say "coolish", what are we talking?

I know we've done the Emmaville and Glen Innes runs in July a few times, and they are brisk, but still fun.

So it appears a GSX1000S is the order of the day. They're based on the 2005 GSXR1000 motor from what I hear and go like a shower of shit!

I like the GSX-S. I thought about one.

Wasn't over impressed with the fuelling as stock, but I'm told that's to get them through
emissions and can be mapped out / fixed. They have a nice sporty feel but I like physically
big solid bikes and I just don't get that. Nice bikes though.

Don't want to be a Negative Nancy and I'm sure the S is everything you would ever want in a modern naked type bike but the numbers are only just better than my 90's 1216 GSXR so at the asking price I think i'll stick with my old girl for a bit longer.
