Hey guys is there anything in the pipeline for AFR or has it gone the same way as any organized ride these days and no ones interested?

chinski
19-02-2017, 03:24 PM
1st of April is right in the middle of my 5 weeks off so if somethings happening i'll be there for sure

Nudie

I've got another ride on that weekend, but I'd blow it off for an AFR if it got going!

I'm always a fan of Cooma

Bob

Weaselman
22-02-2017, 07:50 PM

Mr Hyosung
22-02-2017, 09:59 PM
Don't think I can get that far in the time I have

Bob
23-02-2017, 06:57 AM
Where somewhere in between then?

Bob
23-02-2017, 07:02 AM

Nudie
23-02-2017, 06:01 PM
Walcha?

Bob
23-02-2017, 08:08 PM
Walcha is good fun too

chinski
24-02-2017, 10:21 AM
Walcha?

keen !

Nudie
24-02-2017, 06:20 PM
I only said Walcha because I'll be there anyway with another group. I would have been prepared to dump them for a ASF catch up.
Might not have to!

StuNVA
24-02-2017, 08:57 PM
I'm easy, Walcha is close for me and has good roads but fucked if I'm waiting three hours for a shit feed of bangers and mash again. What about Wauchope or Port ? I'm easy anywhere is better than here.

Weaselman
25-02-2017, 09:28 AM
Yeah I could be in for that. I'm bringing the bike on the ute though. Fuck a 9hr ride on the blade to get there

Redmohawk
26-02-2017, 07:56 AM
Alas can't make it , fucking flat out atm. You nutters should wait two more weeks and all ride down to Vic for the Broadford Bike bonanza tiz a fucking blast . If you enter a pre 1985 bike now $110 would get track time to .....

I'll be there flogging my ass trying to make a living.

Nudie
27-02-2017, 02:37 PM
Flogging your ass for a living? Not that there's anything wrong with that.....

Weaselman
27-02-2017, 06:02 PM
I like the broardford idea too. Not the ass flogging though

Nudie
27-02-2017, 09:46 PM

Stu could be on to it?

wackyrider
01-03-2017, 11:44 AM
I'd be up for Wauchope or Port, would be good to blow the cobwebs out of the bike. Been too long since i've had a proper ride.

Wonder what's the latest with the Oxley though, did they end up dropping the speed limit in the end?

Gix11
01-03-2017, 12:22 PM
Stu, any info mate? Done Walcha, let's try another place.

Terry, apparently Easter is the weekend of April 16th, so with a big enough gap after Eastern Creek would you be keen? The whole 1st of April thing doesn't really cunt do much after all these years.

Mr Hyosung
01-03-2017, 06:56 PM
Easter down here means double demerit points. I'm keen to do something. Didn't quite understand your last sentence

StuNVA
01-03-2017, 07:01 PM
Not sure if the twisties have been reduced but I know some 80k signs went up around Long Flat.
Did it / will it ever make any difference ? I think they are fighting it pretty hard.

Gix11

After re-reading it, I don't understand it either.

What I was getting at was rather than aim for the 1st, and to avoid Easter, maybe we could do it between the two? I was just worried it may be too close to Eastern Creek trip otherwise.

Hidden-behind-trees kind of hard?

Any other suggestions in the area - less cop magnetic?

I dunno, maybe this loop ??

Bob
02-03-2017, 07:14 PM
Crashing at coffs , ebor or dorrigo

Mr Hyosung
02-03-2017, 07:27 PM
Ebor pub was getting bad reviews last time I was there, that was a year ago. Dorrigo is good as we all know. Coffs would probably be more expensive, but a lot more choice for accomm

Bob
03-03-2017, 06:43 PM
Any ideas yet?

TillerRider
05-03-2017, 02:26 PM
Yeah I could be in for that. I'm bringing the bike on the ute though. Fuck a 9hr ride on the blade to get there weaselmam if you want to bring your bike to mine we can trailer both bikes up in my trailer (last year nearly killed me riding up and back lol)

Weaselman
05-03-2017, 07:45 PM
Yeah could be a plan but I won't go if it's in Coffs. Couldn't be fucked driving 9 hours to get there.

TillerRider
05-03-2017, 09:18 PM
No worries mate we will have to see what's happening, but they'd want to get organised as it'll be here before we know it

Weaselman
06-03-2017, 06:48 PM
I'm out now anyway. Couldn't get time off in April now anyway. I got hols in June and am going to Barry sheene on the 26th

Gix11
07-03-2017, 07:42 AM
How many southerners were thinking of coming anyway? If none, then this loop could be the winner as it's some of the best roads. Give us a list below of who is keen for the AFR, regardless of where you are and where the ride may take place. I'll start it and just copy it and add your name.

How does 8th-9th of April suit everyone?

Nudie
07-03-2017, 08:11 PM
I'll be in Walcha the week before, but if I'm not at work on 8th-9th I'll probably chuck the bike on the ute and drive up.
So I'm a maybe.

10-03-2017, 03:27 PM
Don;t know the area well enough to make a call on pubs to stay in. Anyone know where? Bottom of the hill (Coffs) or up to Dorrigo? Where did we stay in Coffs that time all those years ago when Davo was still pissed in the morning and nearly lost it doing a burnout? (Just found out that was 2005!)

Large
10-03-2017, 08:03 PM
We stayed at Macksville/Procter town a coupla times.

Gix11
13-03-2017, 11:11 AM
Yea, but then we may see your mate and his black dog.

Terry is the man for pubs in that area, he knows them all and probably most of the people in them! What do you reckon Terry?

chinski
16-03-2017, 12:32 PM
Anyone coming from SE-Qld i'm thinking i'll ride to Dorrigo on Friday via Kyogle / Casino , stay in Dorrigo Fri night & then meet up with everyone else Sat morning in Coffs if that's what the plan is. 361 kays from GC to Dorrigo

I'll be leaving from northern suburbs of Brissy but want to be wherever we're staying on the Friday night as well as that's where all the fun is at.

I should be once we decide were to stay

Mr Hyosung
17-03-2017, 07:28 PM
I did reply to this post, but it seems to have disappeared. Don't know anywhere at Coffs, big towns aren't our usual go. Dorrigo would be the best, Ebor pub had bad reviews last time I heard. I'd be happy with Coffs if someone knows a good spot. Everyone I know who has been to Coffs in the past couple of years has nearly been in blues with the locals, so if that's your thing, that might be good for a bit of action. Just rung Dorrigo pub, it's fully booked.

Mr Hyosung
17-03-2017, 07:39 PM
Just rung the Crown Hotel/Motel in Grafton and they can fit us in. 45 for a bed in the pub 115 for double in motel. They have variety of rooms. Is Grafton too far north for the southern boys? If so we can do some more research

Mr Hyosung
17-03-2017, 07:53 PM
The sheila from the pub is calling tomorrow to see if we're keen. Ebor has about 18 beds but couples would have to share with others, about 30 to 40 pp a night

MONO
18-03-2017, 10:45 AM
Shoud be able to make this ...

StuNVA
18-03-2017, 01:34 PM
Fuck I got drunk as a cunt at the crown one night when I was 17 and spewed in there sink, I'd stay there just for the memories, it had an awesome veranda too if I remember correctly.

Ebor or Dorrigo if we're doing that loop works for me.

Gix11
21-03-2017, 10:17 AM

With that in mind, I'm putting the uglybus on the ute and driving up. Theres room for an extra bike if anyone wants wants to tag along. I'll be leaving the Gong Friday morning and driving up through Shitney, so if you want, let me know.

I might be a bit slow to reply cause I'm in WA for a couple of days ( you know time difference, 12hr shifts and stuff)

wackyrider
21-03-2017, 01:36 PM
How long you in WA for Russ?

Gix11
21-03-2017, 03:50 PM
Couple will probably have to stay in a share room at Ebor and meals are between 6 & 7pm. Mention you are with a bike group and more people will be booking. Let me know how you go. terry's name might come up as well.

Mr Hyosung
21-03-2017, 07:29 PM
Just talking to publican at Ebor. When you ring mention my name, Terry, and he will put you in rooms with other asf's. He is not keeping any rooms for us especially, so I'd ring sooner rather than later if you want a bed. 0267759155 Peter

Sorry Guys not going to be able to make it, due to the lack of accommodation (but not for the lack of trying), as there is no other accommodation for over 40ks other than the 4 rooms at the Motel which are booked

StuNVA
26-03-2017, 07:32 PM

Maybe Grafton would of had more accommodation options ?

Gix11
27-03-2017, 11:21 AM
This isn't going well is it? We did Ebor to help Nudie, but if they have no rooms/beds available then we're screwed. I haven't booked either.

I know this is my fault for the shit organising guys, but I have a shot load on my plate at the moment, so if anyone can take over and make an exec decision I'd appreciate it. Haven't got the time to research the places etc.

Nudie
27-03-2017, 06:14 PM
It's cool if you need to change the location. I'll get over it, eventually.....

But seriously, the majority rules

Mr Hyosung
27-03-2017, 08:03 PM
Mark stayed there last night. the bloke couldn't quite get the idea that we will share rooms. Mono, if you want your own room there won't be enough. There is a room that will fit 6 people, I thought the couples, meaning Mr and Mrs Mono, Jules and Sarah and Bob and Loz might share that room. I kept telling him to put people in beds to fill rooms but he didn't grasp it at all. To give us a bit more time do you want to delay it till the21st 22nd April. Give us time to check out Coffs or Wauchope. I thought of Grafton because of range of accomm, which is all walking distance to each other. I can check Coffs as well if it means more people can go.

Mr Hyosung
27-03-2017, 08:54 PM
Just called the Plantation Hotel in Coffs. They cater for backpackers so have dorm rooms that sleep 10, 8 and 6 people. They also have double rooms for couples. Dorms beds $30 a night. Doubles $84 a night. There are other motels in walking distance.

Mr Hyosung
27-03-2017, 08:59 PM
There is also the Hoey Moey pub which is also backpackerish. Same price but not in town, its next to the beach.

Mr Hyosung
27-03-2017, 09:00 PM
The Hoey Moey is in Coffs

Mr Hyosung
29-03-2017, 02:19 PM
ATTENZIONE ATTENZIONE. Due to not enough beds in Ebor we are going to Coffs Harbour. The Plantation Hotel is the spot, 4 beds to a room and have doubles for the couples, 0266523855. Tell them your with Terry's motorcycle group. We will be able to lock bikes in beer garden overnight. If you would like something a bit more salubrious there is the Bentleigh Motel next door, 0266522566. Call sooner rather than later. They have 6 x 4 bed bedrooms vacant at the moment.

Mr Hyosung
29-03-2017, 02:30 PM
Should have said, the pub has the 6 vacant rooms. I rang the motel, they start at $110 for doubles. It is the start of the school hols, so don't delay. Drinking after hours at the pub is allowed! but must be followed by church Sunday morning to confess ALL your sins.
