Modern engineering, don't you love it. My FZ1 passed 100,000 k's the other day. Haven't changed a shim or cam chain, never had the carby's off or put new fork seals in, and it will still do over 250kph (on a closed circuit of course, called Australia). Hopefully I will put another 100,000 on it before me and my mate Al Zimer are carted off to the old motorcyclists' retirement home.

thats pretty impressive mate ! my Buell XB12s has 115,000 & still going strong !! And to think people wont buy a modern bike with the horribly high kays of 20,000 haha

I've put over 100,000klms on my R1200GS and the biggest issue I have had was a broken 6mm bolt on the rear hugger.
It still feels like it did when first run in. I love it!

I remember the factory Yamaha Racing Team Mechanic for the Oz Superbikes was swapping the R1 heads for the FZ1 heads. No loss in top end but massive gains down low and mid range. They are definitely an underrated machine
