The move is a key recommendation of the Motorcycle Safety Review Group.
WA riders have lobbied for the lighter European helmets for some time because they say research shows they reduce the likelihood of serious injury compared with heavier helmets.
Road Safety Minister Liza Harvey will release the review group’s final report and recommendations on Friday.
The review began last year after 44 riders were killed in 2014.
It has been examining more than 7500 motorcycle crashes in WA between 2009 and 2013.
